Image is the soul of poetry.Learning ancient poetry from image can effectively improve students’ aesthetic interest and appreciation of ancient poetry.In the image system,animal image is an important aesthetic category.Among the 22 poems selected from Chinese language,a national planning textbook for secondary vocational schools edited by Zhao Dapeng,there are 16 poems involving animal images,accounting for a large proportion.The teaching of ancient poetry in secondary vocational schools takes animal image as the starting point,which is consistent with the rules of ancient poetry appreciation and can cultivate students’ good poetry appreciation ability and improve their aesthetic level.Animal image is rich in meaning,and is an important carrier for poets to express their emotions,as well as an aesthetic object for poets to chant.It is an effective teaching strategy to analyze the meaning and grasp the emotion of poetry by taking animal image as the starting point.The teaching of animal image in secondary vocational Chinese has many values,such as aesthetic education,cultural inheritance and humanistic spirit cultivation.But for a long time,under the background of "emphasizing specialty over culture" in secondary vocational education,there are some worrying phenomena in ancient poetry class of secondary vocational Chinese: students pay less attention to image,lack of intuitive feeling,incomplete image capture,fuzzy image understanding,lack of animal image classification and systematic grasp,etc.Teachers ignore the aesthetic experience of images,dilute the teaching value of images,obscure the deep interpretation of images,and solidify the teaching mode of images.The reasons are mainly the comprehensive factors of aesthetic education,teachers’ concept and students’ interest.According to the existing problems in the teaching of animal images in ancient poetry in secondary vocational schools,we can improve students’ aesthetic appreciation ability from three aspects in combination with practical teaching cases.One is to taste and perceive the beauty of animal images.That is,through recitation,aesthetic reading and comprehension reading,we can feel the beauty of rhyme,emotion and implication of images.The second is to explore the connotation of animal image.That is,through careful reading and analysis,connecting teaching,tracing to the source and transferring,and innovating the form,we can grasp the deep meaning of the image,take root in the image culture,and improve the aesthetic taste.The third is the thematic exploration to expand the denotation of animal images,that is,to deeply understand the connotation of images and grasp the internal relationship of image system through group reading and cooperative exploration.Three optimization strategies are adopted to inject innovative vitality into the teaching of ancient poetry,highlight the connotation and educational value of animal images,stimulate students’ interest in learning,cultivate aesthetic sentiment,and improve the humanistic quality of secondary vocational students,so as to bring certain inspiration and help to the teaching of ancient poetry in secondary vocational Chinese teachers.
