At present, the role of social work in the rescue and protection of factual orphans has been paid more attention.Under the background of the transformation of government functions, the intervention of social work in the protection of factual orphans has a broader space to play. For factural orphans,a good level of self-efficacy can enhance their self-identity,stimulate their hope for life, enhance their ability to cope with difficulties, and thus achieve better growth. Therefore, this paper takes 8 factual orphans in the "Lushan Youth Growth Camp" project of Institution D as the service object, and combines social work practice with social work methods.Explore how group work can more productively intervene in the self-efficacy of factual orphans. In the process of investigating the needs of the factual orphans in Institution D,the author found that these factual orphans have some self-cognitive biases, inner closed and poor communication with others, negative emotions and weak management ability, and choose to escape in the face of difficulties, and other self-efficacy problems through the research methods of scale measurement and structural interview. These problems are inextricably related to their lack of self-efficacy.In order to improve the lack of self-efficacy of factual orphans in institution D,this paper designed six group activities with different themes under the guidance of social learning theory, empowerment theory and advantaged-perspective theory.Through group work, the group members were involved in the crisis of self-efficacy,so as to improve their confidence in interpersonal communication, dilemma coping and emotional management.Help team members reshape their self-cognition,affirm their self-ability,and improve their self-efficacy.After the end of the group, the author verified the effectiveness of the group activities by combining the process evaluation, result evaluation and relevant interview data.It was found that the abilities of interpersonal communication, problem solving and emotion control of the eight members had been improved accordingly.Through participating in the group activities, they regained their confidence and gained more friendship, and their self-efficacy was developing in a good direction. Finally, the author summarizes the research and draws the following conclusions:group work methods and professional theories of social work are effective means to improve the self-efficacy of factual orphans, and diversified group activities are more conducive to the realization of group goals. At the same time, according to the practical process, the paper also reflects on the shortcomings of the group process and puts forward some suggestions,in order to provide reference for the follow-up relevant practical activities.
