Lu Xun’s works shoulder the mission of nurturing the spirit of the Chinese nation,which is a shining chapter in language reading teaching.The teaching value of Lu Xun’s works has not been fully demonstrated because of his long creation,obscure language and profound thoughts,and the unsatisfactory learning effect of students.Scholars and front-line teachers try to change this situation by introducing new teaching concepts and strategies.In his philosophical hermeneutic research,Gadamer proposed the concept of Fusion of Horizons,which provides a new approach to the study of teaching about Lu Xun’s works at the junior secondary level.The fusion of horizons in teaching is a process in which understanding is the essence,language dialogue is the medium,and teachers and students constantly reshape understanding,correct preconceptions and concise the meaning of the text.The teaching activity becomes a creative activity of dialogue and communication between the teacher,students and Lu Xun’s works and generates an understanding of the meaning of the works.The study attempts to put forward thinking directions and suggestions for the reading teaching of Lu Xun’s works by introducing the theory of Fusion of Perspectives.The study aims to transform the long-standing habits of textual interpretation of Lu Xun’s works and to achieve innovation in reading teaching methods.The full text consists of the following parts.The introductory section of this paper introduces the background to the topic of the thesis,clarifies the core concepts of the theory and the current status of research at both home and abroad.The first chapter introduces the core elements of language reading teaching under the theory of fusion of horizons,and analyzes the characteristics of fusion of horizons in teaching Lu Xun’s works in reading and the current selection of Lu Xun’s works in lower secondary school in the unified textbook.It also clarifies the theoretical and practical values of teaching reading of Lu Xun’s works under the theory of fusion of horizons so as to clarify the rationality and appropriateness of applying the theory of fusion of horizons to teaching reading of Lu Xun’s works.Chapter two investigates the current status of reading education of Lu Xun’s works in junior secondary schools,and analyses the problems and why each exists at the student level and the teacher level,respectively.Chapter three focuses on the causes of the problem and proposes an effective paradigm for teaching the reading of Lu Xun’s works in conjunction with the theory of Horizon of Perspectives.With the logical support of the integration of the visual field between teachers,students and Lu Xun’s works,the teaching strategy proposed in this paper focuses on the continuous reshaping of understanding among teaching subjects through the revision of foresight and the condensation of the meaning of Lu Xun’s works,in an attempt to provide new directions for teachers to teach reading of Lu Xun’s works.
