Since the reform and opening up,China’s urbanization process has accelerated, and the economic regions in the north and south have been clearly divided.More employment opportunities, salary benefits, and educational benefits are affecting a group of young and middle-aged "southbound" Guangzhou.Due to busy work, high nanny fees, and unstable childcare institutions, the "South Drifting" group invites their parents to take care of their third generation grandchildren,or due to subjective and objective factors such as widowhood, missing children, and physical health, elderly people voluntarily or are forced to come to urban communities from their hometowns. We define them as the "Old Drifting" group. The "old drifters" group left their long-term living environment and moved to unfamiliar cities to settle.Due to their lack of understanding of the local language, customs, welfare policies, narrow communication with their peers, longing for other relatives in their hometown, and loneliness in the new community, they faced difficulties in community integration, which also affected social stability and harmony. This study used questionnaire survey and interview methods to investigate the integration needs of the elderly floating community in H community. With the support of group dynamics and advantage perspective theory, the author systematically designed and carried out six group practical activities, including "Sunset Friend First Meet","Sweet Puzzle","Happy Family","Happy Life Wish",and "This Place of Peace is My Township".Six group members were guided to fill out the Social Avoidance and Social Distress(SAD)scale,Through pre test and post test analysis, this case was successfully carried out.Propose six suggestions for group work intervention in the integration of elderly drifters in H community: firstly, adhere to group demand orientation and create communication and interaction spaces; The second is to tap into the advantages and potential of the elderly, and reasonably allocate professional social workers; The third is to improve community integration into the environment and enhance the ability to adapt to integration;Fourthly, pay attention to the role of the family system and build a bridge for social worker intervention;Fifth, guide participation in community affairs and establish a sense of voluntary service;Sixth, deepen the optimization of services and inject various social forces. The community integration of the "old drifters" group is a long-term and dynamic process. In the future practical process,a combination of case work methods, group work methods, and community work methods can be gradually explored to address the pain points of integration difficulties and play a more professional role in social work.
