Practical Research On Group Work Intervention In The Social Adjustment Ability Improvement Of Nanny Elderly Drifters

With the background of the long-term urban-rural dichotomy and the accelerated urbanization process,a group of nanny-type old drifters has emerged.On the one hand,this group faces many difficulties in adapting to the new social life;on the other hand,social work-related studies begin to pay attention to the survival and development of this group.It is worth exploring and innovating the group social work method to intervene in the field of this group’s practice research.Based on the background of the times and the current situation of practice research,this paper focuses on the social adjustment problem of the nanny elderly drifters,and proposes a practical model of group work intervention to improve the social adjustment ability of the nanny elderly drifters by using the social work concept of "helping people to help themselves" and professional social work practice,and explores the research strategy and application.Under the guidance of social support theory and continuing socialization theory,social workers base on the social adaptation problems and needs of nanny-type old drifters,aim at improving the social adaptation ability of nanny-type old drifters,and use group work to promote group members’ participation and development of the group.Through the group intervention process,social workers help group members gradually expand their own social support networks,achieve continued socialization in cultural,social,and psychological dimensions,improve personal self-awareness,and enhance personal capabilities.Based on practical work,this paper analyzes and summarizes experiences and finds that the group work method is effective in helping group members to solve social adjustment problems and improve individual adjustment ability.Combined with the application of theory,social workers use the four dimensions of cultural socialization,social socialization,psychological socialization and social support network expansion to enter into the intervention group process.With the help of progressive guidance and leading group members to understand cultural differences and learn the local culture,community resource analysis and mastery,social expansion,family interaction and other thematic contents,they promote the development of individual motivation and ability of group members,realize the continued socialization process,and expand and enhance personal social support network.At the same time,social workers also broadened their professional service perspectives and ideas,raised research limitations and shortcomings,and conducted additional discussions in response to the research on group work practice.
