With the continuous development of market economy andurbanization,alargenumber of people migrate and move along with it.As the oldest group,the "old drifters" face greater challenges.The "olddrifters" studied in this paper refert othose agedover 55 who migrate from rural areas to cities to take care of theirgrand children,and settle down in new urban communities.It is of great significance to appeal to the community andeventhe society to help the "old drifters" to havea happy oldlife and promote the harmonious development of the society.In this paper,the "old drifters" in XKL community of Qinhuangdao city were investigated by questionnaire,interviewand scaleand participatory observation,empowerment theory and social learning theory.A total of 56 questionnaires were distributed in XKL community,and unstructured interviews were conducted with 8interviewees.8 "old drifters" with prominent adaptation problems we reselected to form agroup to improve community adaptability.The group carriedout 6 activitiesintotal.Through research and intervention,adaptation dilemma of the "old drifters" in urbancommunities is mainly manifested in the following aspects:thenarrow circle of peergroup communication,the lack of affectioncare and emotional support,the lack of effective ways to obtain community in formation and resources,and the lowsenseof self-identity.To solve these problems,it is necessary to create an openandfriendly community atmosphere,enhance family intergenerational support,promote benign communication,help the "olddrifters" find their own value to change their way of thinking,and empower the elderly cadresand strengthen the support fortheelderly project.The innovation of this paper is the comprehensiveuse of avariety of researchmethods to study the adaptation of the "old drifters" urbancommunity,theuseo finteractivemodein the group,and afinedefinition of the "old drifters" studied in this paper.Theconcept of "old drifters" based on there search in this paper is very fine,and the deficiency of this paper also lies in the limited sample size,but theresearch based on XKL community,or has certain reference significance.
