With the continuous development of technology,the demand for interdisciplinary and comprehensive talents by the country and society is constantly increasing.STEAM education,originating in the United States,integrates multiple disciplines such as Science,Technology,Engineering,Mathematics,and Arts.It is a new interdisciplinary educational concept and is one of the current research hotspots in education.Physics,as a fundamental discipline in the field of natural sciences,is closely linked to disciplines such as technology,engineering,art,and mathematics.Integrating STEAM education concepts into high school physics teaching not only deepens students’ understanding of scientific theories,but also strengthens the cultivation of students’ interdisciplinary and innovative practical abilities.At present,there is relatively little research both domestically and internationally on the integration of STEAM education concepts into high school physics teaching and practice.This paper takes high school physics mechanics teaching as the research object and carries out the design and practice of high school physics mechanics teaching based on STEAM education concept.The specific research content is as follows:Firstly,the current situation of integrating STEAM education concepts into high school physics teaching research was analyzed through literature research.Important concepts such as STEAM education definition,educational framework,and high school physics mechanics were defined,and constructivist learning theory,situational cognition theory,and "learning by doing" theory were discussed.Secondly,based on theoretical research,construct a high school physics mechanics teaching theory based on STEAM education philosophy.Classify and integrate the knowledge points of high school physics textbooks in the People’s Education Press(2019 edition)based on the STEAM education concept of five university subjects;Proposed high school physics mechanics teaching principles based on STEAM education philosophy;Determine two educational models: "scientific inquiry" and "project-based teaching";Based on our own educational practice environment,we have determined the teaching process and teaching evaluation methods.Finally,based on the STEAM education concept,two cases of scientific inquiry-"Law of Conservation of Momentum" and project-based teaching-"Making Water Rockets" were designed for teaching practice research.Through the comparison of test results,student questionnaires and teacher interviews between the experimental group(Class B)and the control group(Class A),it was found that,under the teaching based on the STEAM education concept:(1)the mastery and understanding of physics knowledge of the students in the experimental group improved;(2)The students’ interest in learning physics in the experimental group was improved,and their ability to explore,work in groups and use interdisciplinary ideas to solve problems was also significantly improved(that is,their STEAM literacy was improved);(3)In the practical classroom,students are the main body,active and actively explore knowledge;Teachers are the guide,and the teaching link is basically implemented;The overall effect is good.In summary,the two courses designed based on the STEAM teaching concept have certain practical significance and can provide reference value for frontline teachers.However,the theoretical and practical research on high school physics mechanics teaching based on STEAM education philosophy is still relatively advanced and needs further improvement.
