A Study On The Interaction Of Online Public Opinion Subjects In Major Emergencies From The Perspective Of Social Networks

The development of mobile Internet technology has made it easy for frequent public emergencies at home and abroad to ignite online public opinion,which brings challenges to the government’s public opinion management work.The effective management of public opinion requires a clear understanding and accurate grasp of the evolutionary characteristics of online public opinion,and it is necessary to study the evolutionary process of online public opinion from the perspective of the interaction of public opinion subjects as a product of the interaction of public opinion subjects.Based on social network analysis theory,life cycle theory and communication theory,this paper uses social network analysis and case study analysis to study the interaction of the subjects of public opinion on the Henan rainstorm microblog from three dimensions:interaction network,interaction behavior and interaction content,in order to deepen the understanding and grasp of public opinion on major emergencies and provide theoretical support and empirical reference for the government to introduce scientific and effective public opinion management measures.It is found that the interactive network of microblogging opinion subjects on the Henan rainstorm incident has such network structural features as sparse structure,fast information dissemination in the network,weak cohesion and solidarity among nodes,significant core-edge structure of the network,and the existence of clique phenomenon,while core node users playing a key role in the evolution of public opinion,such as @Sina Henan,@ CCTV News,@People’s Daily,and @Liang Yustacey,are identified.In terms of interaction behaviors,the five types of public opinion subjects-government,media,opinion leaders,ordinary netizens and social organizations-have different interaction behaviors,forming the interaction form of joint government-media,joint netizens-opinion leaders and coordinated media communication,and the interaction form of netizens-led,coordinated media communication and government response.At the same time,the interaction of multiple opinion subjects also enables the rise of private opinion subjects to overturn the original public opinion guidance pattern,which on the one hand gives rise to the phenomenon of disorderly interaction and raises the risk of public opinion crisis outbreak,and on the other hand promotes multiple opinion subjects to achieve complementary advantages and win-win situation of public opinion governance.In terms of interactive content,the public opinion topics have the evolutionary characteristics of stage-specific,dynamic and diversified,and the interactive content of different public opinion subjects tends to fluctuate in consistency or difference at each stage of public opinion.The content interaction of public opinion subjects also shows a significant feature of dialogue misalignment and dialogue hollowness between official and civil discourse,while media and opinion leaders effectively promote the reconciliation and integration of official and civil discourse.Through the above three dimensions of the interaction among the subjects of the Henan rainstorm microblogging,it is found that the online public opinion on major emergencies represented by the "2021 Henan rainstorm incident" has the following characteristics: the subjects of various types of public opinion rely on weak connections to achieve closer information interaction.In the new media era,the more equal and free interaction among opinion subjects and the higher frequency of interaction promote the rapid circulation and outbreak of online public opinion on major emergencies.The media and opinion leaders play the key roles of agenda setting,information dissemination and public opinion guidance among the five types of opinion subjects.The innovation of this paper lies in the fact that it focuses on the interaction process of online opinion subjects of major emergencies and integrates three research perspectives of interaction networks,interaction behaviors and interaction contents of opinion subjects,which to a certain extent enriches the research space of existing research results and is innovative in its thinking.At the same time,this paper combines quantitative and qualitative research methods to take advantage of quantitative and qualitative research,which improves the scientificity of the research process and the persuasiveness of the research findings,and is innovative in terms of research methods.
