The newly implemented "Geography Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)" clearly "takes Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guide,implements the Party’s educational ideology in all aspects,actively fulfills the fundamental task of establishing moral education,and insists on moral education as the first." However,compared with the extensive implementation and remarkable effect of the geography curriculum thinking politics in colleges and universities,the implementation effect of geography curriculum thinking politics in basic education still needs to be improved.This paper compares the concepts,theoretical basis and the current situation of domestic and foreign researches of "geography curriculum thinking politics",and compares the resources of geography curriculum thinking politics in the junior high school geography textbook of Xiangjiao edition based on the analysis of the content of geography curriculum thinking politics in the new curriculum;and on the basis of the investigation of the current situation of geography curriculum thinking politics implementation in W city secondary schools,analyzes its On the basis of the survey of the current situation of the implementation of the middle school geography curriculum in W city,we analyzed its problems,proposed the teaching strategies of the middle school geography curriculum Civics,and designed a teaching case of the geography curriculum Civics in the context of the new curriculum.The main research findings are as follows:(1)Combined with the Geography Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022Edition),the main contents of the geography curriculum thinking and government in the curriculum standards were sorted out,including: the attitude of science,the concept of human-earth coordination,the concept of sustainable development,the feeling of home and country and international understanding.(2)At the same time,the main contents of Civics in the junior high school curriculum were sorted out by combining with the geography textbook of Xiangjiao edition.It involves the concept of human-earth coordination,the concept of sustainable development,the feeling of family and country and international understanding.(3)At present,there are still the following problems in the implementation of ideological and political education in junior high school geography courses: firstly,the importance of ideological and political education in geography courses needs to be strengthened.Secondly,the teaching ability of geography teachers in carrying out ideological and political courses needs to be improved.Thirdly,the implementation time of ideological and political education in geography courses is relatively short.Fourthly,the ideological and political forms of geography courses are not rich enough.Fifth,the ideological and political evaluation mechanism of geography courses is not perfect enough,(4)To address the above issues,the following strategies are proposed from the perspectives of teacher teaching and evaluation mechanisms.In terms of teaching,firstly,teachers need to change their teaching philosophy and have a deeper understanding of the meaning of ideological and political education in geography courses;Secondly,based on geography textbooks,deeply explore the ideological and political elements related to geography courses;Thirdly,utilizing teacher training to enhance teachers’ ability to carry out ideological and political courses;The fourth is to strengthen the research on ideological and political education in courses and improve the level of carrying out ideological and political education in courses.The strategies proposed from the perspective of teaching evaluation include: firstly,improving the evaluation system of students’ geographical ideological and political literacy;The second is to improve the teaching evaluation system of ideological and political education in geography courses.(5)Combined with the teaching strategies of geography curriculum-thinking politics proposed in this paper,four geography teaching cases were designed according to the geography textbook of Xiangjiao edition,and the main elements of curriculum-thinking politics involved are the concept of human-earth coordination,the concept of sustainable development and the feeling of family and country.
