Curriculum ideological and political education is an important educational concept for cultivating socialist successors in the context of the new era.Strengthening students’ ideological and political education is the mission of educators in the new era.Therefore,various disciplines should fully play their educational role and achieve the educational goal of walking in the same direction as ideological and political courses.Geography course,as a fundamental course in the field of natural sciences,is particularly responsible.In order to better implement the ideological and political concepts in geography courses,this article conducts research on the infiltration of ideological and political education in geography teaching.Firstly,this study is based on the theories of latent curriculum theory,constructivist learning theory,cognitive teaching theory,and humanistic theory.After determining the research background,current research status at home and abroad,as well as the significance and content of the research through literature research,the concepts of curriculum ideology,geography curriculum ideology,and teaching design are defined;Secondly,through questionnaire surveys and interviews with high school geography teachers,we learned about the current situation of integrating ideological and political education into high school geography teaching.We analyzed the teachers’ understanding of ideological and political education in high school geography courses and the main problems in the implementation process of teaching;Once again,in response to the issues reflected in the survey results,explore high school geography teaching design strategies under the concept of ideological and political education in the curriculum,including five parts: the principle of integrating ideological and political education into teaching design,the planning of curriculum ideological and political entry points,analysis of teaching elements,teaching implementation design,and teaching evaluation design;Then,three dimensions were established for the integration of high school geography curriculum and ideological and political education,namely the requirements of the country for talents,the requirements of society for talents,and the need for personal growth;Finally,through the case study method,guided by the teaching design concept of integrating ideological and political elements,the teaching case design of the "Water Cycle" and "How to Make Cities No longer" Look at the Sea "chapters in the compulsory section of the New Teacher’s Edition was completed,in order to provide a reference for the teaching design of integrating ideological and political elements for high school geography teachers.
