In 2022,the Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022Edition)were officially released.The new curriculum standards put forward new concepts that are adapted to the development of the times.They further optimized the content structure of the curriculum,adopted new ways of organization and presentation,and emphasized that Chinese teaching at the compulsory education level should be practical,comprehensive,and contextual.Based on the new curriculum standards,some experts and scholars advocate exploring new ways of teaching and learning.Large-unit teaching is a new teaching method that deepens the Chinese teaching reform and is oriented towards developing the core literacy of students.The characteristics of large-unit teaching,such as big tasks and structured approach,align with the concepts of the new curriculum standards and point the way forward for the development of Chinese teaching in compulsory education under the new curriculum standards.Therefore,it is evident that the study of large-unit teaching is in line with the development needs of the times,considering the core literacy proposed in compulsory education.This paper will be based on the development of students’ core literacy and will conduct research on the teaching strategies of large units of Chinese in junior secondary schools.This paper employs research methods,literature research,and text analysis to study the teaching strategies of large units of junior high school Chinese in the context of core literacy.The entire text is divided into four parts.First,the theories of large-unit teaching in the context of core literacy are outlined,and the principles of large-unit teaching in the teaching station,process and evaluation are clarified,mainly answering the question of “what”.Secondly,the research method is used to analyze the problems and reasons of current situation of large-unit teaching,mainly answering the question of “how”.On this basis,the teaching strategies of large units in junior secondary Chinese in the context of core literacy from three stages: the pre-course preparation stage,the design stage,and the assessment stage.It mainly addresses the question of “how to do it”.Finally,return to the specific teaching,design and analysis of a specific teaching case based on the proposed teaching strategies,using Unit 3 of Grade 7 of the Unified Edition junior secondary Chinese textbook as an example.
