Exploration On The New Path Of Casework Intervention In College Students’ Poverty Alleviation

At present,a large proportion of university students are poor,and they need the care of their teachers and peers as well as the support of society.The problems arising from the presence of poor university students are also very common.They are a special group in schools,and in this intricate social context,they are under great physical and mental pressure,and they are desperate for more care and support.The work of poverty alleviation and support for university students includes both material and spiritual aspects.This paper mainly hopes that through the participation of social workers,we can better help poor university students to solve their problems in the spiritual aspect and improve their ability to deal with problems.This will enable them to achieve a balanced state of body and mind so that they can successfully carry out their studies and lives.The work carried out by the researcher ranged from the smallest relief of a fellow student to improve his attitude towards life and escape the poverty trap,to the largest reinforcement of social stability and the promotion of social progress and development.This thesis firstly found out about the existing policies on financial assistance to help the poor in college D by reviewing the information,and then used a questionnaire survey to collect data,mainly by distributing questionnaires to college students in college D to analyse the precise needs of students.After the survey,we learnt that the assistance for poor university students in college D is mostly material assistance,lacking psychological assistance,and some students also suffer from a lack of funds,academic backwardness and serious inferiority social fears.The students’ needs for poverty are not precisely identified,and professional social workers need to intervene to meet the precise needs of poor students.In this paper,two poor students,Xiao Zhang and Xiao Liu,were selected for a case work intervention study to meet the precise needs of the poor students through the intervention of social workers.In this case study,we firstly understood the basic situation of the clients,analysed their main problems through communication,formulated the main objectives to be achieved in the intervention cases,then used the theories of caring and social support to formulate a specific intervention plan,then made detailed arrangements for the service plan in the intervention cases,and finally implemented the service plan in stages and made a summary and evaluation.Finally,through summary and reflection,a new pathway for social work interventions to support university students is explored.
