The research conclusions are as follows:(1)There is a clear division of labour and a vertical progressive training and transportation of reserve talents in Guangzhou’s training units of young reserve talents at all levels. However, there is a lack of horizontal connectivity among training units from various education and sporting systems, resulting in waste of resources and incomplete development of reserve talents.(2)The age distribution of reserve badminton talents in Guangzhou is "small at both ends and big in the middle," an unbalanced echelon structure. The training period is generally ideal, but the number of people who have participated in the training for more than 6 years is small due to a lack of enlightenment education, most of the reserve talents are motivated by their personal interests and hobbies to receive professional training and there are some participating in the program incentivised by the opportunity to attend high schools or colleges or simply following their parents’ wishes.(3)Guangzhou lacks experienced young badminton coaches, and grass-roots coaches participate in training less often, lack of professional learning and unscientific training methods; The funding source of reserve talents training is single, which can’t meet the high-quality development needs of youth badminton.Except for a few units, many training units do not provide perfect medical security services for athletes.(4)Guangzhou lacks experienced young badminton coaches, and grass-roots coaches participate in training less often, lack of professional learning and unscientific training methods; The funding source of reserve talents training is single, which can’t meet the high-quality development needs of youth badminton.Except for a few units, many training units do not provide perfect medical security services for athletes.(5)The majority of juvenile badminton training units in Guangzhou are capable of taking into account the cultural study of reserve talents without affecting the frequency and duration of training sessions. The conflict between learning and training is not noticeable in the younger reserve talents, but it becomes prevalent after they reach the junior high school stage, particularly in professional teams and sports schools.(6)Guangzhou’s education and sports departments organize many youth badminton competitions every year, but the competitions held by the two departments are aimed at different types of reserve talents. The Administration of Sports of Guangzhou Municipality provides a platform for athletes of professional teams and youth from Juvenile Sports Schools, while the championships or games sponsored by the education department are mainly eligible for students in schools, which further derails the efforts in integrating sports with education.Due to the aforementioned problems, this paper proposes an optimisation strategy for training reserve talents of juvenile badminton in Guangzhou on the basis of lessons learned from the advanced training experiences of "integration of sports and education" at home and abroad. The strategy of training reserve talents of juvenile badminton in Guangzhou includes:strengthening policy support and promoting balanced regional development;strengthening the cooperation between sports and education departments and building a new talent training mechanism;improving the youth competition system and breaking down the barriers that exist in the competition system;accelerating the implementation of the policy of "integration of sports and education" and striving to overcome the contradiction between learning and training of reserve talents;enhancing the talent transportation mechanism and opening up the transportation channel for reserve talents. |
