Archaeology and history are both subjects studying the development history of human society. The relationship between them is not opposite, but complementary. As the material carrier of historical information, archaeological data can "restore" and "reproduce" history to the maximum extent, provide evidence support for history education, and improve students’ historical literacy and learning interest. The history Curriculum Standards for Ordinary Senior High Schools in 2017 also clearly states the necessity of using archaeological data as high-quality curriculum resources in history teaching in middle schools, which is an essential teaching material for history teaching in middle schools and has far-reaching significance and influence in history teaching. This means that under the background of the new curriculum reform,in order to further expand history curriculum resources and promote the improvement of students’ comprehensive history literacy,it is an inevitable trend to combine archaeological data with history education in senior high school.Starting from the history teaching in senior high school and taking the history curriculum standard as the starting point, this paper discusses the educational value function and positive significance of archaeological data to history teaching in senior high school, and expounds the practicability of using archaeological data in history teaching in senior high school from multiple perspectives. On the basis of the research of education practice, the author summarizes the previous research results and studies the status quo and problems existing in the actual application of archaeological data in history teaching of senior high school by using literature analysis method, questionnaire survey method, interview method and other research methods. At present, there are some common problems in the combination of high school history teaching and archaeological materials. For example, teachers habitually use relatively direct teaching methods to use archaeological materials, ignoring students’ acceptance of archaeological materials and failing to fit in with history classes. In addition, some history educators mainly focus on sorting out archaeological data in history textbooks and examination questions, while other studies are relatively scattered and superficial. In view of these problems, this paper will put forward some practical teaching principles and perfect countermeasures, hoping to improve the actual application efficiency of archaeological data in high school history teaching, change the traditional teaching mode, enrich the history curriculum content, and provide possibilities for the new development of the combination of archaeological data and high school history teaching. In a word,as the materialized carrier of Chinese history, culture and national spirit, archaeological data are extremely important curriculum resources in history teaching, and have important research significance and value. It is hoped that the research of this paper can provide some reference value for senior high school history teachers to use archaeological data in practice and give full play to the role of archaeological data in history teaching.
