The "full book reading and discussion" task group is designated as the first learning task group in the high school Chinese curriculum standard(2017 edition and 2020 Revision Edition),which is extremely important.The current state of whole book reading teaching,however,is not positive due to the influence of students,teachers,and other factors.The Ministry’s second required volume of Chinese textbook for senior high school students requires them to read the entire novel of "A Dream of Red Mansions".The novel "A Dream of Red Mansions" is divided into chapters.It features a diverse set of contents as well as a large cast of characters.It is tough for students to read it,which makes teaching the entire book even more challenging.As a result,this study uses the reading teaching of "a dream of Red Mansions" as its research object,analyzes the objectives and requirements of the curriculum and teaching materials,and proposes the overall design and teaching strategy of the reading teaching of "a dream of Red Mansions" based on the teaching status questionnaire survey,in order to promote the reading teaching of "a dream of Red Mansions."Introduction,body,conclusion,and appendices are the four main sections of this article.The introduction is divided into four sections: the topic’s purpose and importance,research status,concept description,and research methodologies.To investigate the reading teaching of "a dream of Red Mansions," the complete book is broken into four chapters.The first chapter examines the benefit of reading the entire book,expounds on the teaching principle of reading the entire book,and expounds on the teaching value of reading the entire book of "a dream of Red Mansions."The second chapter uses a questionnaire survey to study the current state of reading instruction for "A Dream of Red Mansions" from both students and teachers,as well as to identify and analyze difficulties that exist.The third chapter,which is based on the inquiry and analysis,continues the teaching design for "A Dream of Red Mansions" reading instruction,covering teaching preparation,teaching objectives,and teaching plan.There are two elements to teaching preparation:deciding on the reading version and providing reference materials.The teaching goals are determined by the curricular requirements,text characteristics,and the learning circumstances of the pupils.Both in-class and out-of-class components of teaching planning are discussed.On the basis of teaching design,the fourth chapter discusses the reading teaching strategies for the entire book of "A Dream of Red Mansions," including four teaching activities: clarifying the relationship between characters using a thinking map,experiencing personalized language through script performance,and connecting images to appreciate uniqueness through connecting images.
