The development of digital economy has gradually become the key to enhancing a country’s international competitiveness.With the innovative development and wide application of digital technology,digital economy has gradually become the main driving force of economic growth and an important topic for the economic development of various countries.Among them,the relationship between digital economy and employment has become one of the common concerns of government departments and academia.As the main body of absorbing employment,the service industry must be affected first when the digital economy has an impact on the labor market.The current research mainly focuses on the impact of the development of digital economy on the number of employment,and there are few studies on the quality of employment,especially on the quality of employment in service industry.Therefore,how does the development of digital economy affect the employment quality of service industry?What are the main impact paths? Is there regional and industrial heterogeneity? Putting forward and studying these problems has important theoretical and practical significance for solving the problems of low employment quality and low employment structure in China.Based on the development of digital economy and the theories of human capital,labor market segmentation and feasible ability,this paper expounds the theoretical mechanism and path of the development of digital economy affecting the employment quality of service industry.Secondly,the entropy method is used to calculate the development level of China’s digital economy and the employment quality level of service industry.Then,according to the provincial panel data of China from 2006 to2019,the two-way fixed effect model,intermediary model and instrumental variable method are used to explore the impact effect and mechanism of the development of digital economy on the employment quality of China’s service industry.The results show that: first,there are regional differences in the development level of regional digital economy and the employment quality of service industry in China,and the degree of coordinated development between the two is increasing year by year;Second,the development level of digital economy has significantly promoted the employment quality of service industry,which has significant regional and industrial heterogeneity;Third,digital economy can promote the quality of employment in the service industry by promoting the upgrading of industrial structure and the improvement of regional innovation ability.Under the influence of industrial structure and regional innovation,digital economy has a nonlinear impact on the quality of employment in the service industry.Accordingly,this paper puts forward the following policy suggestions: First,we should improve the development level of regional digital economy and pay attention to the balanced development of regional digital economy;Second,we should improve the level of labor human capital,increase human capital investment and cultivate professional and technical talents;Third,we should promote the upgrading of regional industrial structure and innovation ability,promote the upgrading of industrial structure with innovation,and promote the upgrading of regional innovation ability with the optimization of industrial structure. |
