| On September 11th,2021,the China-ASEAN Women’s Forum 2021opened in Guilin,Guangxi.With the theme of“Women and Sustainable Development in the New Situation”,this forum encourages women in China and ASEAN countries to share information,resources,experience and wisdom through the forum so as to learn from each other and promote common development.The material for the simulated consecutive C-E interpretation comes from the speeches of the Chinese-speaking guests at the opening ceremony of the Forum.This report consists of four parts:task description,task process,case analysis and conclusion.In the task description,the author introduces the background and the feature of the simulated interpretation task;the task process involves pre-interpretation preparation,the interpretation process and the post-interpretation work;In the case analysis,the author analyzes the challenges encountered in this C-E simulated interpretation and the strategies to cope with them from the perspective of Interpretive Theory,including the use of generalization and omission strategies to solve the problem of loose logic in the source language,the use of explanation and addition strategies to solve the problem of semantic ambiguity,and the use of inversion and conversion to solve the problem of syntactical differences between Chinese and English.In the last part,the author summarizes the gains and limitations of this thesis.Through a holistic review and case analyses of this simulated interpretation task,the author emphasizes the importance of logical analysis,semantic clarification,and syntactical differences between Chinese and English in a C-E consecutive interpretation,hoping to provide guidance and enlightenment to others in work and study later on. |
