The China Education 30 Forum held its 8th annual meeting in Beijing on December 4-5,2021,with the theme of "Great Changes in China’s Education",inviting famous thinkers,educators,entrepreneurs and grass-roots education managers to discuss and make efforts to promote the healthy development of China’s education.The meeting has had a great impact on the education sector,and the public has also responded strongly.Due to the impact of the epidemic,this meeting was conducted in a combination of online and offline.The author took the video of this conference as the material to carry out the Chinese-English simulation interpretation practice.This report discusses from four aspects: task description,task process,case analysis and summary.In the task description part,the author introduces the background,significance and characteristics of this task.The task process is divided into interpretation preparation,simulated consecutive interpretation process and post-interpretation assessment.The interpretation preparation includes background knowledge,summarizing education-related glossary,familiarizing with the conference process and the characteristics of the speakers’ speech style,and arranging detailed tasks of the simulated practice.The simulated interpretation process includes determining the time,place and equipment of the interpreting task,playing the conference video,recording the interpretation,audience feedback,and transcription and analysis of the recording,etc.In the case analysis part,the author is guided by Seleskovitch’s Interpretive Theory from the perspective of the Interpreter’s Subjectivity.In the face of the difficulties encountered in the process of simulated transmission,the author puts forward corresponding countermeasures from the three levels of words,sentences and discourses.At the Lexical level,the author puts forward some interpretation strategies,such as omission,concept explicitation,connotation explicitation and devisualized expression.At the syntactic level,generalization and omission are proposed.At the textual level,logical explicitation is proposed.In the conclusion part,the author objectively reflects on the shortcomings of his simulation practice,which includes a lack of accuracy in interpreting due to hearing and comprehending challenges caused by speakers’ accents,and emphasizes the importance of paying attention to accent-related training in the daily interpretation practice.This paper hopes to bring reference and inspiration for future study and work.
