In international Chinese language teaching,for middle and advanced stage students’ literacy teaching,"not knowing characters and not knowing words" is a common error.The separation of words and phrases makes us realize the importance of the use of characters in teaching.Moreover,sorting out the use of Chinese characters can provide reliable teaching resources for teachers’ lesson preparation and advanced students’ deep learning.Therefore,this article takes the Chinese characters in the "Yue(Rou)" section as the research object,hoping to use this as an example to analyze the functional use of Chinese characters in the "Yue(Rou)" section,and provide reference for Chinese character teaching in international Chinese language teaching.However,due to the influence of length and other factors,it is not possible to study all the "Moon(Rou)" characters one by one.Therefore,after considering factors such as frequency of use,word formation ability,richness of meanings,and difficulty in understanding,Select the four representative Chinese characters "you","bei","fei",and "tuo" as the research objects.Traditional research and description of Chinese characters often start from the perspective of "form,sound,and meaning".However,with the deepening of scholars’ research in recent years,the traditional "three elements theory of Chinese characters" has exposed many problems.At this time,a new theory of Chinese character research has begun to enter the public’s perspective,which is the three-dimensional properties of Chinese characters,namely "structure,form,and function".Among them,emphasizing the social "functional" attribute of Chinese characters is the key to the establishment of the "three-dimensional attribute of Chinese characters".The so-called "functional use of Chinese characters" refers to the examination of the "inter character relationship" and "word word relationship" with the "character use" as the core,analyzing the "functional use" of Chinese characters(using this character to record the original word),"dual use"(using this character to record another derivative word that has a sound and meaning connection with the original word),"borrowing"(using the character form as a phonetic symbol to record words that are not related to the shape of the character but have similar sounds and sounds),and the evolution of functional use over time.This study will utilize theoretical knowledge related to the use of Chinese characters in the field of employment,and conduct a systematic study and description of the representative Chinese characters "you","bei","fei",and "tuo" in the "month(meat)" section through searching for a large number of literature.It will comprehensively examine the use and function of the four characters from a synchronic and diachronic perspective.Based on the sorting out of the functions of using the four characters,this study aims to apply the research results to the practice of international Chinese language teaching.The four characters will be used as a "Yue(Rou)" Chinese character teaching unit,with each character being a class hour.Firstly,the basic situation of teaching will be introduced,including teaching objectives and class hours,teaching content and teaching difficulties,teaching methods and principles.Then,based on the function of using Chinese characters in the "Yue(Rou)" section,teaching segments were designed for each of the four characters.In the teaching,attention was paid to the "Grade Standards" and extracurricular supplements were made appropriately,including diverse ways of expressing words such as idioms and ancient poetry.The relationship between words was comprehensively sorted out,hoping to improve the learning effectiveness of Chinese characters for learners and cultivate their interest in Chinese culture.This paper summarizes the functions of using the four characters "you","bei","fei",and "tuo",as well as the design of teaching applications,which will provide teaching resources for international Chinese language teaching and reference ideas for frontline Chinese language teaching.
