A Study On The Interpretation Of Disyllabic Verbal And Generic Words In Contemporary Chinese Learning Dictionary

Abstract/Summary:
Learning dictionary is a reference book designed to help students use basic languages faster and better.Contemporary Chinese Learning Dictionary(hereinafter referred to as "Learning Dictionary")is an innovative,learning and contemporary Chinese learning dictionary compiled by Mr.Zhang Zhiyi and published by the Commercial Press in 2020.In this paper,disyllabic verbal nominal-class words with both verbal and nominal meanings in the Learning Dictionary are taken as the research object,and 249 disyllabic verbal nominal-class words in the Learning Dictionary are counted manually.First of all,by referring to the theory of interpretive factor,this paper divides the verbal and nominal meanings of the two-syllable verbal and generic words in the Learner’s Dictionary into semantic,grammatical and pragmatic paraphrasing factors(hereinafter referred to as semantic,grammatical and pragmatic factors)according to the categories of interpretive factors.It is found that the content provided by the definition of the verb and class words in the Learner’s Dictionary is mainly used to reflect the semantics and grammar,and the interpretation factors of the semantic level and the grammatical level are quite sufficient.Comparatively speaking,the verb and class word interpretation of the Learner’s Dictionary reflects less pragmatic paraphrasing factors.At the same time,according to the types and distribution of interpretation factors in the definition framework of verbal and nominal sense items,a macro-interpretation model of verbal and nominal sense items is constructed.Secondly,from the perspective of argumentative structure and physical structure,this paper gives a comprehensive description and analysis of the semantic categories of the disyllabic noun and class words in the Learner’s Dictionary.The analysis of semantic relationship between verb and noun meaning is the focus and difficulty of grammatical and semantic studies.It is found that the part of noun-semantic item interpretation entering the explanatory framework of verbal semantic item is mainly concentrated in the functional role or contributing role of noun meaning.The semantic class of noun is mainly concentrated in the noun referring to concrete object,and the semantic class of transformed verb is mainly concentrated in the receiving verb,instrumental verb and agent verb.Finally,this study puts forward some suggestions on the optimization of the Lexicon from five aspects: the difficulty level of paraphrasing words,the types of paraphrasing factors,the three planes of semantics,grammar and pragmatically,the same field and the same mode,and the role of functional factors and contributing factors in paraphrasing.Among them,the most important is to highlight the role of functional factors and contributing factors in the interpretation of noun-compound words.We suggest that we should combine the argumentative structure and the physical structure to give a richer description of the meaning of noun-compound words.
