The Research On Color Words' Definition In Learner's Dictionary Of Chinese

The color words in Chinese have rich cultural connotation,the research of color words in Chinese is beneficial to master color words for those foreign learners of Chinese,and it also plays a positive role in promoting them to understand Chinese culture.This article will compare the definition of color words which in the ordinary language dictionary of Chinese and the learner's dictionary of Chinese,especially the culture meaning.On this basis,I considering the advantages and disadvantages in definition and trying to make suggestions.The first chapter is the introduction of this article,including the related study of color words.Besides,it also set out the content,thinking,methods of the research.This article is based on the Commercial Press Learner's Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese and the Contemporary Chinese Dictionary,study on color words in these two dictionaries.It introduces the color words system,and discusses the acquisition of color words which aims at foreign learners,then compares the function,use objects,definitions and use cases,and tries to put forward advice in making dictionaries.The second chapter defines color words in the modern Chinese,and divided them into two categories: basic color words and ordinary color word.It also subdivided color words in paradigm and syntagm of verbs and cognitive level.In addition,it also focus on the cultural connotation for the eight basic color words “red,yellow,green,blue,purple,black,white,grey” and one basic color word “brown”.The third chapter aims at the problems in using color words based on the HSK Composition Corpus.I select the “red”,“yellow”,“green”,“blue”,“black”,“white” and the related words which is representative,as well as summarizes the types of errors,analyses the reasons for errors.The fourth chapter firstly introduces the basic situation of the Commercial Press Learner's Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese and the Contemporary Chinese Dictionary.Then collects the situation in quantity,definition,and example,and analyses the similarities and differences between the definition of color words especially the cultural connotation in two dictionaries.The fifth chapter bases on the contrastive analysis of color word in these two dictionaries,and combined with the cultural connotation,as well as the mistakes that foreign learners easy to make.Then sums up the advantages and disadvantages in definition of the Commercial Press Learner's Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese learn Chinese" on color word processing advantages and disadvantages,and tries to come up with color words' definition in learner's dictionary of Chinese.
