A Contrastive Study Of Monosyllable Oral Verb Interpretation Between Modern Chinese Dictionary (7th Edition) And The Commercial Press Learner’s Dictionary Of Contemporary Chinese

This paper take Monosyllable oral verbs as our research object,as well as take“Modern Chinese Dictionary”(7th Edition)(In the following content referred to as “Xian Han”)and “The Commercial press Learner’s Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese”(In the following content referred to as “Learn Chinese Dictionary”)as the closed research area,use the method of combining Comparison and statistics,from the perspective of optimizing definitions in outward-looking Chinese learning dictionaries,make a full research on the interpretation of monosyllable oral verbs in the two dictionaries.Monosyllabic oral verbs are the key and vital part in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language and the interpretation of extroverted Chinese learning dictionaries,but the number of research results has very few results.In addition,the research on dictionary definitions in China mainly focuses on the meta-language,paraphrase content,paraphrase mode,paraphrase principles,etc.The research on dictionary paraphrases within the scope of limited semantics is relatively lacking.Through the comparative analysis of “Xian Han” and“Learn Chinese Dictionary”,the monosyllabic oral verbs involved in the collection and the setting of meaning items,the way of interpretation,and the content of the interpretation,found the characteristics of the interpretation in the “Learn Chinese Dictionary” and some deficiencies,then put forward corresponding revision suggestions,but also provide references for the compilation of other foreign-oriented Chinese learning dictionaries,and ultimately serve the development of the cause of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The content of this article is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction.First,it introduces the reasons for choosing the topic of this article based on the background of the times,and expounds the significance of this research from two aspects: theoretical value and practical significance.Secondly,it summarizes and analyzes the existing research results in the academic field of dictionary definition research and verb definition related to this article,and finally introduces the research ideas,content and research methods of this article.The second part mainly introduces the monosyllable oral verbs.First,based on Mr.Su Xinchun’s “Modern Chinese Classification Dictionary”,we classify monosyllable oral verbs into dietary monosyllable oral verbs,shouting monosyllable oral verbs,and breathing monosyllable oral verbs from a semantic perspective.Verbs,eating and drinking monosyllabic oral verbs are four major categories.On this basis,the semantic characteristics of monosyllabic oral verbs are analyzed.Secondly,a comparative study of the number of monosyllabic oral verbs and the setting of meaning items in “Xian Han” and“Learn Chinese Dictionary”,after manual screening and quantitative statistics,it is found that seventy five monosyllabic oral verbs are included in “Xian Han” There are fifty two monosyllable oral verbs in the “Learn Chinese Dictionary” and forty seven monosyllable oral verbs in the two dictionaries.Counting the number of meaning items of forty six monosyllable oral verbs in the two dictionaries.It is found that there are one hundred and four meaning items in “Xian Han” and ninety items in the “Learn Chinese Dictionary”.The third part is the content of the second and third chapters of this thesis.It is a comparative analysis of the interpretation methods and content of monosyllable oral verbs in “Xian Han” and “Learn Chinese Dictionary”.First of all,under the guidance of predecessor scholars on the research theory of dictionary interpretation methods,the three most used interpretation methods in the two dictionaries are summarized: descriptive explanatory,synonymous,synonymous,and categorized descriptive,among which descriptive explanatory The formula is the most frequently used paraphrase in the two dictionaries.In “Xian Han” and “Learn Chinese Word List”,sixty seven and fifty two meaning items use this way of interpretation respectively,and the proportions are as high as53.6% and 63.4% respectively.Secondly,a comparative analysis of the definitions of single-syllable oral verbs in the two dictionaries based on descriptive explanatory expressions.Among the forty six monosyllabic oral verbs in the two dictionaries,the definitions of twenty six monosyllabic oral verbs are basically the same in the two dictionaries,accounting for 56.5% of the total.There are twelve monosyllable oral verbs in“Xian Han”,which account for 26% of the total.There are also eight monosyllable oral verbs in the “Learn Chinese Dictionary” with more detailed interpretations,accounting for17.3%.The fourth part is the summary and compiling enlightenment of the outward-oriented Chinese learner’s dictionary.First of all,it summarizes the abundant number of word collection items and innovative interpretation methods of “Learn Chinese Dictionary”,and proposes revision suggestions for the inaccuracy and completeness of the interpretation of some single-syllable oral verbs.Second,focus on the compilation of other export-oriented Chinese learning dictionaries.It is proposed that the expression of semantic features of interpretation should pay attention to accuracy and completeness.When supplementing the interpretation with the help of pictures,it is necessary to pay attention to the compilation of the quality of the picture content and other aspects,with the aim of extrovert Chinese the compilation of learning dictionaries has played an active role in promoting.
