Research On Poverty Alleviation TV Series In China

The term "precise poverty alleviation" was first introduced by General Secretary Xi Jinping on November 3,2013,during his visit to the Eighteenth Cave Village in western Hunan Province.With the successive introduction of relevant national poverty alleviation policies and precise measures,public attention has gradually increased,which has stimulated the creative enthusiasm of TV series creators,and the number of TV series with poverty alleviation themes in China has recently shown a trend of spurt growth.They have shifted their creative vision to the povertystricken areas in rural China,to the cause of poverty eradication in China,and to the subtleties of poverty alleviation work,and have been working hard to provide viewers with one batch of TV series on poverty alleviation.Through these images of poverty alleviation,we create a portrait of the times,provoke the world audience to think about poverty alleviation and noble family sentiments,and witness together the touching stories,the spirit of struggle without forgetting the beginning and the cultural memory of the Chinese nation behind China’s escape from poverty and the completion of a moderately prosperous society.This paper focuses on the narrative strategy and cultural intention of Chinese TV dramas on poverty alleviation,mainly using literature and case study method,comparative research method and field survey method,and combining the relevant views of narratology and cultural memory theory,which provide the methodological and theoretical basis and support for this paper.Through a close reading of the texts and horizontal comparison of Chinese TV dramas on poverty alleviation in recent years,and on the basis of observing and studying a large number of TV dramas on poverty alleviation,the paper summarizes the common features and rules in the narrative strategy of Chinese TV dramas on poverty alleviation,and explores the cultural intention and value conveyed by TV dramas on poverty alleviation in the context of the era of poverty eradication.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly clarifies the background,significance and innovation points of Chinese TV dramas on poverty alleviation,and composes and analyzes the literature and video materials on the current situation of domestic and foreign research on this topic.The second part is the definition of concepts and theoretical foundation,which mainly defines several concepts related to Chinese TV dramas on poverty alleviation and theoretically traces the relevant theories,providing conceptual foundation and theoretical support for the construction of subsequent chapters.The third part mainly studies the cultural intention of Chinese TV dramas on poverty alleviation,and combines it with the memory theory,from the two dimensions of vernacular culture and spiritual culture respectively,and combines them with specific TV drama texts to summarize and outline the unique common cultural characteristics of Chinese TV dramas on poverty alleviation.The fourth part focuses on the narrative construction of Chinese TV dramas on poverty alleviation,borrowing some theories and views from Grimes’ narratology to explore the narrative strategies and aesthetic characteristics of TV dramas on poverty alleviation from the aspects of narrative principles,selection of subject matter,narrative style and narrative structure,and the shaping of character images.The fifth part is a reflection on the current development status of China’s poverty alleviation TV dramas,first summarizing the main problems exposed in the development stages of creation and filming,promotion and marketing,and then reflecting on and looking forward to their future development,and putting forward practical suggestions for specific problems.
