In December 2016,in an important speech at the National Conference on Ideological and Political Work in Colleges and Universities,Xi Jinping emphasized the need to do a good job of implementing the whole teaching in Curriculum Ideology and Politics.In recent years,the education community has also been paying more and more attention to the cultivation of students’ ideology and morality.High school students are in the critical period of forming three views and need to be guided and educated.Curriculum Ideology and Politics need to be integrated with ideological and political education to form a synergistic effect to educate people,so the implementation of Curriculum Ideology and Politics in high school English is very necessary and important.Based on the theory of curriculum culture development,moral education theory,Marxist Theory of People’s Overall Development and hidden curriculum theory,this study aims to investigate the following two problems:(1)What is the current situation of implementing Curriculum Ideology and Politics in high school English courses today?(2)What problems exist in the implementation of ideological and political curriculum in English classrooms?The two questions are the main research questions.219 students and 34 teachers in grade one and grade two of The Senior High School of Yingcheng of Hubei province are taken as the investigation objects,aiming at investigating the problems in the implementation of curriculum ideology and politics in high school English teaching and giving suggestions for improvement.Firstly,the author used questionnaires,divided into student and teacher versions,to understand the current situation of the implementation of Curriculum Ideology and Politics as a whole.207 student questionnaires and 34 teacher questionnaires were finally collected,and reliability analysis was conducted using SPSS26.0 software.Secondly,the author used the interview method to do an interview survey with 15 randomly selected students and 10 teachers after class time to deeply understand their teaching status,find out the problems and give constructive suggestions.Finally,the author used the classroom observation method and took reading,listening,speaking,and writing lessons to observe each lesson and recorded the listening notes.The author also analyzed the Ideological and Political elements in PEP high school English textbook Compulsory 1,Compulsory 2,and Compulsory 3 textbooks to provide strategies and examples that can be referred to for future research and teachers.Research results shows that that:(1)teachers and leaders are not sufficiently aware of the concept of Curriculum Ideology and Politics and lack a deep understanding of Curriculum Ideology and Politics,generally focuses only on grades and further education.Schools have activities to carry out Curriculum Ideology and Politics,but only on the surface.(2)On the implementation of Curriculum Ideology and Politics.There is a problem that it is difficult to combine English teaching with Curriculum Ideology and Politics,which is manifested in the difficulty for teachers to explore the ideological and political elements in the teaching materials.At the same time,the teaching mode of English teachers is relatively single and not innovative enough,so it cannot be perfectly combined with Curriculum Ideology and Politics.In addition,the evaluation mechanism is not perfect,and rarely involves the content of ideology and politics.The school management level lacks high attention to Curriculum Ideology and Politics,and the management mechanism is not perfect.This study provides ideas and methods for future research on the integration of Curriculum Ideology and Politics into high school English teaching,suggests suggestions for the construction of Curriculum Ideology and Politics,most importantly,makes a certain contribution to the task of "establishing moral education" in high school English.
