With the development of society and the change of forms,the proportion of depression occurrence in college students is gradually increasing,which seriously threatens the physical and mental health of students.As a negative parenting style,parental psychological abuse has an important impact on individual’s susceptibility to negative emotions(such as depression)and cognitive aspects(self-evaluation and rumination)in the process of growth and development.Core self-evaluation is often used as an intermediary variable to explain how he affects individual behavior and is often used as a protective factor of depression.Rumination is considered to be a negative cognitive style that tends to cause negative emotions.This study took college students as the research object to explore the relationship between parental psychological abuse and depression in college students,as well as the mediating role of core self-evaluation and rumination in the relationship between parental psychological abuse and depression.A group counseling program with the theme of improving core self-evaluation was designed to help college students reduce their level of depression.The research mainly includes two parts: The first study is to explore the relationship among parental psychological abuse,core self-evaluation,rumination thinking,and depression of college students and the mediating role of core self-evaluation and rumination thinking in parental psychological abuse and depression by randomly sending questionnaires and statistical data to 1135 students in a university in Shandong Province.The second study mainly studied the influence of group counseling based on core self-evaluation on college students’ depression through group counseling with the theme of improving core self-evaluation.In the second study,a total of 30 people were selected as research objects,15 people were randomly selected as experimental group,and 15 people as control group.The experimental group received psychological counseling in groups for eight weeks and90 minutes each time.The control group studied and lived normal without any intervention.The depression level before and after the intervention improved effectively.The main results of the study are as follows:First,there were significant differences in the gender and grade dimensions of depression.Parental psychological abuse is significantly different in the family situation(whether it is a single parent court);There are significant differences in parental psychological abuse,rumination and core self-evaluation on parental marital status(whether parents are divorced or not);There were significant differences in parental psychological abuse and core self-evaluation among students.Second,parental psychological abuse positively predicted depressive moodThird,core self-evaluation plays a mediating role between parental psychological abuse and depression.Fourth,rumination plays a mediating role between parental psychological abuse and depression.Fifth,group psychological counseling with the theme of improving individual core self-evaluation has a significant effect,which can effectively reduce the level of student depression.The results indicate that parental psychological abuse can not only directly affect the level of depression in college students,but also affect depression in college students through the mediating effect of core self-evaluation and rumination.Group psychological counseling with the theme of improving the level of core self-evaluation of college students has a remarkable effect and can effectively reduce the level of depression of college students.
