| Based on the perspective of health communication, this paper takes online media reports on depression from 2017 to 2021(people.com.cn,Guangming.com,Thepaper.cn and Ifeng.com)as research samples, and adopts content analysis method and case study method to divide the study into two parts. The first part uses Zang Guoren’s framework theory to explore the framework of network media’s depression report from seven dimensions: the number, theme, presentation, length, genre, source and emotional tone of depression report at three levels: high, medium and low.It is found that there is a bias in the construction of depression in the network media, which is mainly reflected in the "situational" reports. The subject of the report focuses on the case report of depression; The reporting genre is mainly news, lack of in-depth content; In terms of emotional tone, the negative image of depression is mainly created, and there is a lack of positive reports. The lack of scientific reporting in network media affects the authority of science popularization, and the report is highly dependent on expert information sources, resulting in the lack of discourse power of patients with depression. The second part uses the fear appeal theory to analyze the application of fear appeal in depression reports, and concludes that the use of "threat" in depression reports is at a high level and the use of "efficacy" is at a low level, leading to improper use of fear appeal information and poor persuasive effect. This study suggests that the healthy transmission of depression should be promoted from macro and micro aspects. On the macro side, government agencies should cooperate with other ministries and commissions to build the credibility of the data information resources advantage; The media should work closely with experts and scholars and play the role of opinion leaders.Citizens should take a variety of ways to negotiate dialogue,in order to increase the loyalty of users.Microscopically,we should strengthen the exploration of quality content;Online media should balance positive and negative information: when reporting depression,it should balance positive and negative information, emphasize its seriousness, but also provide positive information such as treatment methods and help resources,so as to help patients and readers to take positive action;Use positive words and expressions: When reporting depression, the media should avoid using negative words and expressions as much as possible.Instead, they should use positive words and expressions to encourage patients and readers to actively deal with depression.Provide specific treatment methods and help resources: When reporting depression, the media should provide specific treatment methods and help resources to provide help and support for patients and readers;Sharing patients’ recovery experiences: The media can share some patients’ recovery experiences, bring some encouragement and hope to patients and readers, and enhance their confidence and courage;Arouse the health appeal of the audience. |
