With the progress of the society,mental health is also increasingly concerned by the society.The theme of China's "World Mental Health Day" in 2019 is " Mental health,social harmony,I act".At present,the number of depression in China has exceeded 58 million,accounting for 4.2%of the total population.The WHO predicts that the biggest burden of public health in China in 2020 will be depression-type mental illness.Mental health is not just an individual problem related to health,it is also a social problem sufficient to affect harmony.As a carrier of information,the mass media selects and highlights information through the news framework,which in turn affects the audience's awareness of the disease or illness.This article uses 172 depression reports from Sina.com from 2014 to 2019 as a research sample,and uses Zang Guoren's three-layer framework theory to analyze the news framework of depression reported by the media.Based on the media coverage framework and the audience's perception of depression patients,this paper further Explore the image of depression patients presented by Sina.com,and through interviews with depressive patients and psychiatrists,participatory observations,and reading depression-related works,try to analyze the image of depression patients closer to the real,and use it with the media Compare the images to discover problems,and put forward thinking and suggestions.The research in this article found that the reports on depression are mainly based on the fact statement framework and the appealing attention framework,supplemented by the active struggle framework and the medical and institutional framework;in the vertical time dimension,the subject framework continues to be reasonable over time,and the form is more diverse,In-depth reports have also increased.Overall,the issue of media depression in China has now entered the "scientific period" and started to move towards the "human period",but there is still a certain distance between the real "human period" and the "political period".The premise and foundation for the construction of depression media image is the news frame of depression report.Under the real influence of the media,the audience activates or reconstructs the cognitive framework to actively construct a subjectively meaningful media image.This article analyzes on the basis of the media reporting framework that the depression media images presented by the two media are pessimistic and passive suicidal self-mutilation,worthy of sympathy and care,obstruction of social order,and active protesters.Consistent with the media reporting framework,pessimistic and passive suicide self-mutilation and sympathetic caring are the main images presented by the media;those who hinder social order and active protesters are followed.The media image is inconsistent with the image of a real"normal" person who is sensitive and inferior,is actively working hard,and has a three-dimensional life.On this basis,this article further digs out the problem of the one-sided and simplified reporting structure of depression reporting topics in Sina.com and Health Times,and then leads to some thoughts and suggestions:When the media reports on depression,the reporting framework should be reasonable,Balanced reporting;refuse to hunt for novels,focus on social benefits;scientific attribution,in-depth reporting;policy analysis,multi-directional reporting.In this way,a more reasonable depression news reporting framework is constructed,a comprehensive and objective image of depression patients is shaped,related knowledge is popularized,people's cognition is improved,prejudice and stigma are weakened,and the media is promoted to be more professional and contribute to depression News reports on the rehabilitation of the disease.
