Objective On the basis of understanding professional identity status and influencing factors about traditional Chinese medicine universities undergraduate students.And then,under the process role theory to construct three stages role expectation,role apperception and role practice to structured explore the formation mechanism of their clinical professional identity,which provides a new perspective.MethodsOn the basis of quantitative background support and sampling strategy,the formation process of their professional identity through qualitative research.Quantitative research: By convenience sampling method,from March to April 2022,the general data questionnaire and professional identity scale of nursing students were used to conduct a cross-sectional survey on their professional identity.Statistical analysis of one-way analysis of variance,post-och test,and multiple linear regression using SPSS23.0.Qualitative research: With the biggest difference sampling method,in the process role theory role construction three stage perspective,by describing the nature of the study,14 traditional Chinese medicine universities undergraduate nursing students half structured interview in May 2022,using directional content analysis method supplemented by Nvivo software analysis text data,eventually form professional identity three-stage cycle model.Results1.Quantitative researchProfessional identity score of undergraduate nursing students in traditional Chinese medicine universities was(52.09 ± 12.98).One Way Analysis of variance showed that voluntary choice,nursing models,and internship subsidy were statistically significant(P <0.05).In the post-hoc test,the difference scores between self-selection with others choice and adjustment were statistically significant(P <0.05).Multiple linear regression showed that voluntary choice and nursing models were the independent influencing factors of their professional identity(P <0.05),and nursing model was more important than voluntary choice.2.Qualitative researchClinical professional identity of undergraduate nursing students is formed in the three stages of role expectation,role apperception and role practice: role expectation(self-expectation,others’ expectation),role apperception(professional value,professional support,clinical adaptability,professional growth,and role practice(participants,bystanders).Role solidification,low professional value and insufficient professional support were the hindering factors.The promoting factors include self-expectation,nursing models and clinical adaptability,which finally form two kinds of professional identity results of participants and bystanders.Conclusions1.The professional identity score of undergraduate nursing students in traditional Chinese medicine universities is low,nursing models plays an important role in the development of their professional identity.2.The formation of the professional identity is a process of circular construction.The three stages of the role construction can structurally explain the formation process of the professional identity of the nursing students. |
