Epidemiological Investigation And Diagnosis And Treatment Of Lower Urinary Tract Diseases In Cats In Zhengzhou

With the improvement of living standards,many people are starting to keep cats as pets.Lower urinary tract diseases in cats refer to urinary tract infections,urethral stones,structural abnormalities,tumors,cystitis,and urethra diseases.A common disease among cats,with similar clinical features and symptoms,characterized by easy recurrence,and can lead to death in severe cases.Therefore,combining clinical symptoms,early diagnosis and treatment is of great significance.Through systematic analysis and research on the characteristics,diagnosis,treatment,and prevention of feline diseases,it can provide a good theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of feline lower urinary tract diseases,and thus provide a basis for clinical treatment.This study investigated the data of 93 cats with lower urinary tract diseases in 10 pet clinics in Zhengzhou City from January 2022 to December 2022,and analyzed the characteristics of the disease and typical cases.The diagnostic methods mainly include basic clinical examinations,laboratory examinations,and imaging examinations.The treatment methods are mainly divided into conservative treatment and surgical treatment.The results showed that there were 21 cases of spontaneous cystitis(21/93,22.58%),26 cases of lower urinary tract infection(26/93,27.95%),33 cases of lower urinary tract stones(33/93,35.48%),10 cases of lower urinary tract stones and urinary tract infections(10/93,10.75%),and 3 cases of other causes(3/93,3.23%);The incidence rate of male cats(54 cases with castration and 24 cases without castration)is higher than that of female cats(6 cases with infertility and 11 cases without infertility);The age of onset is concentrated in cases aged 1～3 and over 8 years old;The onset months are mainly concentrated in March May and August September;The concentrated manifestation in infection cases is an increase in white blood cells and neutrophils;Conservative treatment has a certain effect on infection cases,and surgical treatment for stone cases can achieve a 100% effect.Through clinical diagnosis and investigation results,it has been shown that preventive measures are more important in the treatment of lower urinary tract diseases in cats,mainly including the use of prescription food,replacement of cat litter,increased drinking water,and daily exercise.
