Investigation And Analysis Of Lower Urinary Tract Diseases In Cats In Areas Of Weifang

Cine lower urinary tract disease(Feline lower urinary tract disease,FLUTD)is a general term for multiple lower urinary tract diseases in cats.Including many diseases occurring in the bladder and urethra,such as idiopathic cystitis(Feline idiopathic cystitis,FICI),lower urinary tract infection(Lower urinary tract infection,LUTI),urolithiasis and other common diseases.Common clinical manifestations are frequent urination,urination pain,urgency,hematuria,urinary retention,severe cases can be secondary systemic adverse reactions to acute kidney injury and even cause death..This disease is a common disease in clinical diagnosis and treatment,with high incidence and relatively easy initial diagnosis,but the diagnosis still requires rich clinical experience and laboratory examination..In terms of treatment,some improvement can be achieved with conventional methods,but in some stubborn cases,medication is not satisfactory.This disease is not easy to cure,and has a high recurrence rate.Therefore,this study takes infected cats in different areas of Weifang City,Shandong Province as the research object,hoping to deeply explore the pathogenic factors and diagnosis and treatment methods of FLUTD through clinical case collection and disease analysis,and summarize and analyze the regularity of FLUTD and clinical characteristics of diagnosis and treatment.Hope to provide some theoretical basis and data reference for the treatment,prevention and control of FLUTD.In this study,all the cases of feline lower urinary tract diseases received clinically in Weifang Meowo Cat Hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 were collected,and 61 cases of cats who fully met the conditions of this experiment were selected for analysis and statistics.According to the condition and pet desire,the cases were random Ly divided into three experimental groups.The effect of diet on FLUTD recurrence rate was studied by artificial control in the later period.At the same time,three cases representing cat idiopathic cystitis,urolithiasis and complex lower urinary tract infection were selected for detailed record analysis.Investigation results: During the trial,there were 1120 cat cases,and the number of cat lower urinary tract related cases was 101.The incidence of FLUTD was 9.0%.Onset age was mainly concentrated in 1 – 3 years,with 20.3% in 0 – 1 years,25.4% in 1 – 2 years,and30.5% in 2 – 3 years,the incidence was only 11.9% over the age of 4.The main pathogenic breeds were Brackish(37.7%),puppets(18%),Chinese garden cat(18.2%),and other breeds(relatively small).In terms of sex,the incidence of male cats was significantly higher than that of female cats.Male cats accounted for 90.2%,among which neutered male cats accounted for 78.8% and neutered female cats accounted for 8.2%.In terms of feeding patterns,the incidence of dry food was significantly higher than that of wet food.In terms of clinical symptoms,frequency of urination,urine dripping,high proportion of urinary closure.In terms of examination methods,the application of ultrasound is more than that of X-ray.Blood routine,biochemistry,cat Serum amyloid A protein(SAA)and blood gas tests were mainly performed.Urinological examination mainly includes urine routine and urine sediment examination,and direct urine sampling during catheterization is the most appropriate method for urine collection.Classification and diagnosis results showed that spontaneous cystitis accounted for the highest proportion(52.5%),followed by urolithiasis accounted for 39.3%,and other conditions accounted for less.In terms of treatment,surgical treatment has the advantages of higher success rate and lower recurrence rate compared with conservative treatment.The results of the study on the effect of late diet control on the recurrence rate also showed that taking prescription wet food in the later period could control the recurrence rate to 5% within one year,which can greatly reduce the recurrence rate of FLUTD.According to this case investigation and analysis,the age,breed,sex,feeding method and sterilization of cats will all have a certain impact on the incidence of FLUTD.In cases,idiopathic cystitis is the highest proportion,and the surgical treatment of FLUTD is better than conservative treatment,and the recurrence rate is lower.FLUTD has a high clinical recurrence rate,and the late recurrence rate can be greatly reduced by adjusting the diet.
