China’s agriculture has shifted from the "yield-increasing" to the "qualityimproving" stage, and accelerating the transformation of energy of motion is the necessary path to achieve high-quality development of modern agriculture. As a new driving force in the "quality-improving" stage, the digital economy has profoundly changed the traditional economic and industrial structure of China. It is important for investigating the impact of digital economy on agricultural green total factor productivity(hereinafter referred to as agricultural GTFP)to promote agriculture to enjoy the dividends of digital economy development, accelerate green transformation and achieve high-quality development.Based on this,it is a key step to mine the potential energy of motion and stimulate the role of digital economy as a "new engine" for green agricultural development by deeply exploring the inner mechanism of digital economy to promote agricultural GTFP,clarifying the relationship and path of digital economy on agricultural GTFP,and taking into account the heterogeneity of resource endowment and geographical location characteristics.Based on the review of existing theories and studies, the research firstly analyzes the mechanism of the digital economy’s effect on agricultural GTFP in three dimensions:TC,PEC and SEC.After that, the entropy value method and the Malmquist-Luenberger productivity index based on the SBM directional distance function are used to measure the comprehensive development level of digital economy and agricultural GTFP index in 30 provinces from 2011 to 2021 in China.According to the calculation results, the spatial and temporal differentiation characteristics are analyzed. Finally,a two-way fixed-effects model is used to empirically investigate the direct impact of digital economy on agricultural GTFP,and a sub-sample regression is conducted to explore the heterogeneous impact of digital economy on agricultural GTFP and to test the mechanism of interaction between digital economy and agricultural GTFP.After the above analysis, the research draws the core conclusions:(1)The digital economy presents a development trend of high in the east and low in the west, and it has a significant positive contribution to agricultural GTFP;(2)The digital economy mainly contributes positively to agricultural GTFP through TC and PEC,and the SEC channel is not significant;(3)The impact of digital economy on agricultural GTFP shows different characteristics in regions with different infrastructure, geographical location and resource endowment;(4)On the basis of resource endowment heterogeneity analysis, both external trade dependence and agro-industrial agglomeration have positive moderating effects on the process of the impact of the digital economy on agricultural GTFP only in the major grain producing areas.According to the above, the research makes the countermeasures: Firstly, developing the digital economy and bridging the digital divide;Secondly, promoting technological progress and optimizing resource allocation;Thirdly, improving the infrastructure and tailoring it to the local situation;Lastly, promoting foreign trade and accelerating industrial clustering.
