Fine lower urinary tract disease(FLUTD)is one of the common feline diseases in small animals. There are many causes of lower urinary tract diseases,so the incidence of this disease is quite different, which brings some difficulties to clinical diagnosis and treatment. If the sick cats are not treated in time,it is easy to cause kidney problems, and then lead to death.Cats with good prognosis also need long-term feeding management to avoid recurrence, which greatly reduces the quality of life of cats.At present, foreign veterinarians have some studies on this disease, but because of its complicated factors and symptoms, there is still a lack of regional incidence statistics in China. Therefore, this study took domestic cats in Anhui Province as the research object, conducted a statistical investigation on the incidence and diagnosis and treatment of cats, and collected urine samples of clinical cats for urine bacteria culture and drug sensitivity test,in order to provide certain data reference for the diagnosis and treatment of cats with lower urinary tract cases in Anhui Province. Methods :(1)The age, month, sex, breed, body type, environment, diet, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment and prognosis of 202 cases of FLUTD were statistically analyzed by questionnaire.(2)Urine samples from 23 infected cats with FLUTD were collected for isolation and culture of urine bacteria and drug sensitivity test. The detection rate of urine bacteria, common pathogenic bacteria and drug types with better antibacterial effect were counted.(3)Three clinical cases with FLUTD were selected and the diagnosis and treatment methods were analyzed. Results :(1)Of the 202 points of questionnaire collected, there were 173 male cats(85.64 %)and 29 female cats(14.36 %).Among them,60.81 % of the male cats were castrated and 78.26 % of the female cats were neutered. The main age of onset is 1 to 3years old,and the incidence of male cats is certain in all ages, while the incidence of female cats is increased in the age of 9 years and above. In the whole year, the highest number of medical cases was in October, and the peak months were from February to April and from August to December.50% of the infected cats were medium size and 48.52%were obese. The incidence of lean cats was lower.Among the investigated cases, the highest incidence of the breed is the British Shorthair cat, followed by the Chinese farm cat and the exotic Shorthair cat.In terms of diet and feeding environment,68.32 % of the infected cats took dry food as the staple food, and the incidence rate was 78.61 % in single-cat households. The most common clinical symptoms are hematuria, frequent urination and uria. The etiology of the disease was spontaneous cystitis, urethral emboli, urolithiasis and urinary tract infection.Among them,90.59% of the cases were treated with conservative treatment,9.41% of the cases were treated with surgical treatment, and the cure rate of conservative treatment was 73.85%,and the cure rate of surgical treatment was87.5%.(2)Of the 23 urine samples collected from infected cats,30.4 % were positive for urine bacteria culture,71.4 % were infected with single pathogenic bacteria, and 28.6 %were infected with mixed pathogenic bacteria.Nine strains of bacteria were isolated from the positive samples collected this time.By strain identification, pseudomonas aeruginosa and Bacillus discosus accounted for more. The results of drug sensitivity test indicated that imipenem, cefpazone and rifampicin were the first choice antimicrobial agents.(3)Clinically,three cases of FLUTD were treated with conservative treatment, urethral reconstruction and cystotomy respectively, and the prognosis of all three cases was good. Conclusions : The incidence factors of FLUTD are correlated with age, month, sex, breed, body type, environment, diet, etc. The curative rate of surgical treatment is higher than that of clinical treatment.
