| Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease is a comprehensive description of a variety of cat lower urinary tract diseases, including urethral obstruction, bladder stones, bacterial cystitis, spontaneous cystitis and other unexplained cat lower urinary tract diseases.Due to the obstruction of the excretion of the urine of cats with cat lower urinary tract syndrome, harmful substances in the urine accumulate in the body and damage the body.It is easy to cause the cat’s renal failure and uremia, and finally lead to the death of the sick cat. This study collected feline cases from four large pet hospitals in Changsha from August 2020 to July 2021,systematically investigated and analyzed the incidence and epidemiological characteristics of cat lower urinary tract syndrome, and selected two typical cat lower urinary tract syndrome cases of British short haired cat and Chinese pastoral cat,To further understand the possible differences in the incidence of cat lower urinary tract syndrome in different varieties,so as to provide scientific basis for the treatment and prevention of cat lower urinary tract syndrome.16388 feline cases were collected in this study.269 cases of cat lower urinary tract syndrome were diagnosed by clinical basic examination, laboratory examination and imaging examination. The species, sterilization, gender, weight, age and month of onset of the confirmed cases were systematically counted and analyzed. The results showed that the incidence rate of cat lower urinary tract syndrome was 1.64%;The British short haired cat has the highest incidence, with 140 cases, accounting for 52.04% of the total incidence, followed by the Chinese garden cat, with 50 cases, accounting for 18.59% of the total incidence. The two breeds with the highest incidence have differences in the time and age of onset.January and February are the two months with the highest incidence of incidence rate in the UK,reaching 1.32% and 1.5% respectively;July and September were the two months with the highest incidence rate of Chinese garden cats, which were 0.57% and 0.61%respectively;April and may were the two months with the lowest incidence rate of short haired cats in Britain, which were 0.64% and 0.37% respectively;June and September were the two months with the lowest incidence rate of Chinese garden cats, which were 0.08%and 0.14% respectively; The incidence rate of lower urinary tract syndrome in British short haired cats over six years of age is zero, and the incidence rate of lower urinary tract syndrome in Chinese pastoral cats over seven and nine years of age is 0.37%.Among the 140 cases of British short haired cats,135 cases were treated conservatively,133 cases were cured, the cure rate was 98.51%,42 cases recurred, the recurrence rate was31.58%,5 cases were treated surgically,5 cases were cured, the cure rate was 100%,4 cases recurred, and the recurrence rate was 80%.Among the 50 cases of Chinese pastoral cats,48 cases were treated conservatively,46 cases were cured, the cure rate was 95.83%,14 cases recurred, the recurrence rate was 30.43%,and 2 cases were treated surgically,2 cases were cured, the cure rate was 100%,1 case recurred, the recurrence rate was 50%.It can be seen that the recurrence rate of surgical treatment in the cases of lower urinary tract syndrome of British short haired cats and Chinese pastoral cats is higher than that of conservative treatment,There is little difference between the cure rate of surgical treatment and conservative treatment. |
