Against the backdrop of increasing social attention to disadvantaged groups,it has been found through personal experience that there is a shortage of appropriate play and educational toys for children with intellectual disabilities.This situation hinders the physical and mental development of children with intellectual disabilities,who urgently need specialized play and educational toys to help them through the most difficult stages of their lives.Therefore,this study aims to explore the feasibility of designing play and educational toys for children with intellectual disabilities.Through literature research,observation interviews,and interdisciplinary cross-referencing,the study explores in depth the field of intellectual disabilities and related areas.The results of the study show that early intervention can help children with intellectual disabilities with early identification and treatment,and sensory integration training,as a way of early intervention,can maximize the potential of children with intellectual disabilities.Rehabilitation training through play and educational toys is one of the most effective methods.Therefore,through case analysis,hierarchical analysis,and other methods,the study conducted in-depth research on the principles of sensory integration training and sensory integration play and educational toys,ultimately resulting in the design of an emotional interactive sensory integration play and educational toy.The study conducted in-depth research on the design elements,principles,and methods and implemented the design in practice and testing verification.This study preliminarily constructs a relatively systematic research framework for designing play and educational toys for children with intellectual disabilities,aiming to develop integrated play and educational toys that combine education and entertainment,creating equal product context and psychological space for children with intellectual disabilities.The emotional interactive sensory integration play and educational toy designed and implemented in this study is a new type of play and educational toy that uses emotional interaction to train children’s sensory integration and emotional expression abilities,achieving the goal of promoting the physical and mental development of children with intellectual disabilities.This not only provides new research ideas for relevant researchers but also increases public awareness and attention to children with intellectual disabilities,providing support and help for their family and school education,thus reducing the burden on parents and rehabilitation therapists.
