Under the background of the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy,as the core of the relationship between people and land in rural areas,optimizing the layout of rural settlements and improving the level of intensive land use are important measures to promote the implementation of rural revitalization.The existing researches on the optimization of rural settlements have obvious location bias,and they are mostly concentrated in the central and eastern regions with better regional conditions and ecological environment background,and less research on the areas with poor ecological environment conditions and fragile ecology.Therefore,this paper selects Gulang County,an ecologically fragile area in northwest China as the research area,analyzes the area,distribution density,evolution form and aggregation degree of rural settlements from the perspective of time scale and space,and judges the future development trend of settlements in combination with the current social and economic development.Finally,by evaluating the ecological importance of the whole area and the degree of suitability of construction,a mutually exclusive combination matrix is constructed to propose the direction of optimizing the layout of rural residential areas in Gulang County,and propose the corresponding optimization path for village development,in order to promote rural revitalization for Gulang County.Provide reference for improving the layout of rural settlements in the national land space,strengthening ecological protection and compiling village planning.Research indicates:(1)From 2009 to 2018,the number and spatial distribution of rural settlements in Gulang County changed,mainly in the following aspects: In terms of quantity changes,the area expansion trend was significant.The dynamic degree of rural settlements in Gulang County was The towns and towns with positive and large changes are distributed in the central region of the territory,and the towns and towns with a negative dynamic degree of rural settlements are mainly distributed in the southern mountainous areas,which corresponds to the zoning of the landforms of Gulang County.(2)During the study period,the total area of patches,the number of patches and the density of patches in rural residential areas in Gulang County showed an overall growth trend.From the point of view,the change trend of indicators in each township is inconsistent.In general,the area of ural settlements in the central region has gradually increased,and the degree of aggregation has increased significantly;while the area of rural settlements in the townships and towns in the southern mountainous area has decreased,and the degree of fragmentation has increased.The distribution of rural settlements has obvious spatial correlation,and its agglomeration characteristics become more and more obvious with the passage of time.(3)According to the influence of the factors affecting the dynamic change of rural settlements in Gulang County detected by geographic detectors,it is found that the interaction of any two factors has a greater impact on the dynamic changes of rural settlements than the contribution of a single factor,and the factors are in the order of magnitude.Mutual reinforcement or nonlinear reinforcement effects.(4)According to the evaluation results of the ecological importance of land space and the evaluation results of the suitability of the layout of rural settlements,build a mutually exclusive combination matrix,and divide the rural settlements in Gulang County into priority development areas,key construction areas,restricted construction areas and ecological There are four types of relocation areas,and the development types of administrative villages are judged,and the corresponding village development optimization paths are proposed.
