Tujia brocade is called "Xilankapu" in Tujia language, which means the floral blanket of Tujia people. It is the crystallization of the memory and wisdom of the Tujia people, and is a very representative item in Tujia culture. In May 2006,it became the first batch of items on the national intangible Cultural Heritage list.As one of China’s first national intangible cultural heritage projects,Tujia brocade has a long history and is a splendid work among the ethnic minority brocade. It reflects the living customs, religious beliefs and aesthetic changes of the Tujia people, which contains rich historical, cultural and social values. With the deepening of economic globalization and cultural diversification, the spread of Tujia brocade, which is rooted in traditional culture, has been impacted to a certain extent. In addition,it originated in mountainous areas,so the development difficulty in the current society can be imagined. The recreation of intangible cultural heritage is not only an effective way to change the disconnection between intangible cultural heritage and the development of modern society, but also an effective way to carry forward traditional culture. This project starts from the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, and studies the design and application of Tujia brocade patterns in household lighting fixtures.Through the literature research method, the development status of Tujia brocade and lamp design is understood.Combined with the interdisciplinary research method, that is,using IPA analysis method and rough set theory, the design elements of household lamps that meet the needs of users are obtained as the basis for subsequent design. At the same time, combining the relevant theories of semiotics, the Tujia brocade patterns are analyzed and extracted. Finally, based on previous user research and pattern analysis, the Tujia brocade pattern is combined with household lighting design to design household lighting fixtures that meet user needs and effectively protect and inherit intangible cultural heritage.Let intangible cultural heritage that is far from public life not only display items during the tourism process, but also truly enter thousands of households. This study is a beneficial attempt for the protection of intangible cultural heritage, providing a new idea for the protection of Tujia brocade, and taking user demand as the leading role to improve user satisfaction with the product,Tujia brocade is applied in household lighting design, enriching the connotation and design path of lighting design. At the same time,it also provides reference for the protection and inheritance of other intangible cultural heritage in the information age,so that more people can understand our traditional culture and establish the consciousness of national confidence.
