Analysis Of Coupling Coordination Degree Between Eco-Environment And Economic Development In 16 Prefectures Of Yunnan Province

Since the reform and opening up,the domestic economy has continued to grow rapidly,and now China has become the second largest economy in the world.However,at the same time of rapid economic development,China is facing serious ecological problems such as serious environmental damage,frequent ecological disasters,resource depletion and deteriorating air quality.Practice has proven that the way to obtain economic growth at the expense of the ecological environment will make the ecological environment a major shortcoming on the road to development in China,and our government has realized the importance of protecting the ecological environment and promoting sustainable and coordinated development of the economy and the environment.Compared with the East and Central regions,scholars in China have less research on the relationship between ecological and economic development in the Western region.As the ecological barrier in Western China and the "Window" and "Gateway" of China to South and Southeast Asia,the coupled ecological-environmental-economic development of Yunnan Province is an important part of China’s comprehensive sustainable development.However,the fragility of the ecological environment and the backwardness of economic development in the province have been highlighted.Therefore,a coordinated development model is introduced to analyze the coordinated development of the two systems in 16 prefectures in Yunnan Province,and to explore the sustainable development path of ecological environment and economic development in 16 prefectures.Based on the basic theories such as ecological economics theory,sustainable development theory and system theory,we take 16 prefectures in Yunnan Province as the research objects,comprehensively summarize the current situation of ecological environment system and economic development system in Yunnan Province,comprehensively evaluate the ecological environment system and economic development system in 16 prefectures with the help of comprehensive evaluation model,empirically study the coupling relationship between ecological environment and economic development,and measure the main obstacle factors affecting the coordinated development of the two systems using the barrier degree model.The conclusions of the empirical study are as follows: the comprehensive indexes of the ecological environment system and economic development system in Yunnan Province develop in an upward trend,and the ecological environment level of the 16 prefectures do not vary much,but in general,the comprehensive index of the ecological environment in Kunming is lower than that in other prefectures;the economic development level varies a lot,and overall it shows a spatial pattern of development centered on Kunming and radiating to the periphery.In terms of the synergistic development status of the two systems,during the study period,the economic development of the 16 prefectures was faster than the ecological environment development,and the S value of the synergistic development degree gradually became smaller.By 2020,the two systems in Kunming are in the economic priority development type,and the remaining 15 prefectures are in the ecological environment priority development type.At the end of 2020,Nujiang and Diqing are in the state of barely coordinated,while all other prefectures have reached the level of primary coordinated development and above.The spatial development pattern of Central Yunnan > Southeast Yunnan > West Yunnan > Northeast Yunnan > Southwest Yunnan > Northwest Yunnan.Looking at the results of the barrier degree model at both the criterion level and the indicator level,economic development is the main barrier factor affecting the coordinated development of ecological environment and economy in 16 prefectures in Yunnan Province.Finally,it is proposed that in promoting the coordinated development of ecology and economy in the province,we should firstly focus on increasing the radiation role of Kunming and narrowing the development gap between prefectures;secondly,give full play to the location advantage and strongly promote the development and opening up to the outside world;promote the optimization and upgrading of regional industrial structure and take the green development path;and finally,strengthen environmental protection and pollution control to improve the ecological level.
