The Great Wall is the most important historical and cultural heritage and spiritual totem in our country,it is also a place of fascinating treasures.With the continuous deepening of the systematic research of the Great Wall and the clarification of its structure,the system research of the Ming Great Wall has been initially established.At this stage,the research on the Great Wall has extended from the archaeology,site protection and scenic development of the Great Wall to the systematic study of the Great Wall area.The villages and settlements surrounding the Great Wall are also included in the scope of the Great Wall study.The generation and development of the settlements around the Great Wall are closely related to the behavior of military defense and struggle,but the current research focuses on traditional settlements.Military settlements such as the military town of Guancheng still have their special needs for heritage protection and development.Faced with this situation,under the background of landscape architecture,this paper will choose Gubeikou Great Wall,a famous pass city in the Ming Dynasty.With the help of the research path of cultural landscape in traditional settlements and GIS technology,this paper will carry out the research process of military settlements,assist cross-disciplinary verification and comparison,and conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of Gubeikou regional environment and factor characteristics.Further analysis of Gubeikou Great Wall space form and law of construction of military settlements.This study is limited to the Beijing Miyun area within the range of Gubeikou,completed the following work:This study is limited to Gubeikou Town,Miyun District,Beijing,and completes the following research work: Firstly,background research is conducted on Gubeikou Great Wall military settlement,and the generation logic of Gubeikou military settlement is sorted out.The analysis of historical materials shows the important military and strategic significance of the Gubeikou,and confirms the historical development of the Gubeikou.It clarified the historical development of Gubeikou,which originated in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period,emerged in the Song and Liao Periods,and reached a prosperous stage in the Ming Dynasty.Secondly,it summarizes the natural,cultural and historical landscape elements of Gubeikou Great Wall through historical documents and textual research,applies the patch landscape pattern and presents the pattern of elements collection.This paper summarizes the military,economic and other social functions of Gubeikou Great Wall,and makes it clear that the Ming Dynasty is the most complicated stage in the historical pattern of Gubeikou.Then this article combed the social politics and military system of Ming Dynasty and the background overview of Ming Dynasty’s "Nine Frontier" system.At the same time,the comparison and analysis of geographical data of various types of military settlements under the " Nine Frontier " Ming Great Wall are carried out to obtain the characteristics of Gubeikou Great Wall and the commonness with other military settlements in the site selection and structural layout.The process of exploring the formation and evolution of military settlements,exploring their cultural context and landscape value,summarizing landscape elements,analyzing and discriminating the differences between military settlements and traditional settlements in their spatial forms is helpful to better understand the development of man-land relationship in military settlements,and establish a theoretical model of historical and cultural heritage.At the same time,based on the above results,a corresponding heritage protection strategy is proposed as a theoretical basis to provide a set of reliable analysis models for the protection of the legacy of the Gubeikou Great Wall military settlements and other military settlements.In the future,the above methods will be used to comprehensively understand military settlements,establish historical geographic database model and guide future tourism development,and protect and utilize more cultural heritage of military settlements of the same type in the future.
