In the background of the era of rapid development of information technology,information technology ground naturally intervenes in the field of education,and the country has entered the period of educational informationization.The study of how to improve the level of IT teaching ability of normal students who are teacher candidates is pivotal in meeting the requirements of education informatization,promoting teachers’ professional development,advancing basic education reform and improving the quality of education teaching.At the same time,for physics,a subject with strong relevance to science and technology,the proper use of information technology can deepen learners’ experience and understanding of the subject.However,current research on IT teaching is mainly focused on in-service teachers and is not specific to the subject,so it is worthwhile to consider the series of questions about the IT teaching ability of physics normal students in depth.This study is divided into three main parts as follows.Study 1 was to improve the self-assessment tool for physics normal students’ IT teaching ability.This part mainly adopted the literature analysis method,combing through the UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers,the U.S.National Education Technology Plan,the European Union’s European Framework for Digital Competence of Educators,and the domestic Standards for Information Technology Application Competence of Primary and Secondary School Teachers(for Trial Implementation),exploring the standards or dimensions related to the IT teaching competence of teachers or pre-service teachers in them,and making a similar dimension or dimensions related to the IT teaching ability of teachers or pre-service teachers were regrouped and organized,and the "Information Technology Teaching Ability Standards for Teacher Trainees" were revised.At the same time,the self-assessment tool of IT teaching ability for physics normal students was improved by taking into consideration the characteristics of physics subjects.Study 2 was a survey on the current situation of self-assessment of physics normal students’ IT teaching ability.This part mainly used a questionnaire survey method and statistical analysis method.A scale questionnaire built on the self-assessment tool for physics normal students’ IT teaching ability was formulated in Study 1,and a formal questionnaire was formed after the pre-survey.A combination of organized distribution and random sampling was utilized to survey more than 800 physics normal students in 9 normal universities.The conclusions of the survey analysis are as follows:(1)In general,physics normal students’ self-assessment of IT teaching ability is at the middle to upper level.(2)Physics normal students’ basic knowledgeability is relatively weak,there are shortcomings in physics application,the mastery of physics virtual experiment software is not satisfactory,the understanding of learning platform of physics subject nature is not deep enough,and the internal differences are more obvious.(3)There is still room for further exploration of the teaching application ability of physics normal students.They are still unfamiliar with subject-related IT teaching mode and cannot use IT flexibly,but they have better performance in online access to teaching information resources and multimedia teaching ability.(4)Physics normal students have a better IT attitude and sense of responsibility,and are willing to apply IT in physics teaching.(5)There is no significant difference in the overall self-assessment of IT teaching ability by gender,but the self-assessment of multimedia application and sensor operation ability of males is significantly higher than that of females.(6)As the grade level increases,the self-assessment of IT teaching ability of physics normal students becomes better and better,and the self-assessment of freshman year is significantly lower than that of the other three grades.Study 3 was a study of factors influencing physics normal students’ IT teaching ability.This part mainly the adopted literature analysis method,interview method,questionnaire survey method,and statistical analysis method.Starting from the existing theoretical studies at home and abroad,combined with the interviews with the respondents,the factors influencing the selfassessment of physics normal students’ IT teaching ability were identified as School Support,Policy Support,Educational Internship,Technology Curriculum,and Self-Attitude,and a questionnaire was prepared.Descriptive analysis,correlation analysis,and multiple linear regression analysis were conducted on the questionnaire results to calculate the relationship between each influencing factor and physics normal students’ IT teaching ability.The conclusions of the analysis were as follows:(1)"School Support" had a direct positive effect on the self-assessment of physics teacher candidates’ competence in general application.theoretical design,assessment optimization,practical competence,and technical responsibility.(2)"Policy Support" had a direct positive effect on technical responsibility only.(2)"Policy Support" had a direct positive effect on technical responsibility only,and a positive but insignificant effect on other aspects.(3)"Educational Internship" had a limited effect on physics teacher trainees.(4)"Technology Curriculum" had a significant positive effect on physics applications,but not on most aspects.(5)" Self-Attitude " had a direct positive effect on all dimensions of physics teacher candidates’ self-assessment of IT applications.In general,physics normal students’ self-assessment of IT teaching ability is good,but there is a need to improve their ability to apply IT in teaching the subject.This requires a definite effect of each influencing factor,so the implementation of the influencing factors is crucial.As a means to improve IT teaching ability,the positive effect of each influence factor has not been fully explored to show,and the impact effect can be further improved by implementing certain strategic guidelines.Based on the above analysis and conclusions,we propose a "trinity" of recommendations for improving the IT teaching ability of physics normal students from three perspectives:(1)Support and guarantee for the implementation of national social policy programs: sound mechanism to assess the implementation of a series of information technology policy programs;guarantee that information technology hardware facilities are complete;and build an online technology exchange and training platform.(2)Strengthen subject specialization and IT training in teacher-training institutions: optimize the curriculum system for IT teaching ability training;strictly implement practical training links for normal students;support subject specialization teachers to develop into IT fields;organize multiform IT teaching activities;and establish and improve a diversified evaluation index system.(3)Physics normal students develop their attitudes and awareness of holistic development: enhancing awareness of IT applications in teaching;emphasizing practical teaching and reflective skills;exploring and thinking about the pedagogical use of IT in physics subjects.
