A Research On Social Work About Migrant Children's Community Integration Service

At present,the level of urbanization in China is constantly improving,more and more rural families migrate to cities,the influx of rural households has given rise to a new group which called migrant children.This families are for the children can enjoy more quality resources and a better life.However,being affected by the urban and rural household registration system and the change of resident,migrant children is in a series of adaptive problems defined,if there's not a good solution to these problems,it is not conducive to the personal development of migrant children,but also affects the daily management and development of the city.Therefore,it is necessary for the public to pay more attention to the migrant children.During my internship in J community in Changsha,I found out the problems of migrant children's integration in the community through household survey,observation and interview.I recruited migrant children with poor integration as service objects.Based on the theory of community integration,and carried out a group service which spent two months in J community.According to the problems of migrant children in J community,such as lack of confidence,estrangement of family relations,low frequency of community participation,lack of community communication and low sense of community identity,seven group services were carried out to help migrant children integrate into the community by reconstructing their social support network.By evaluating the group services,it was found that this group service improved their self-confidence,promoted their family relations,increased their frequency of community participation,expanded their scope of community communication and enhanced their recognition of the community.Through summarizing and reflecting on the service experience,my research finds out the deficiencies in the service for migrant children and puts forward some specific suggestions.It believes that to do a good job in the work for floating children,we should start from the following four points at least: firstly,we should build a social support network for migrant children by various parties;secondly,put the social support network of migrant children into operation;thirdly,the social work service for migrant children should becomes normal;lastly,building a friendly social environment for migrant children.
