Under the dual background of social aging and the acceleration of digital wave, the contact rate and digital participation of middle-aged and elderly groups in daily life show an obvious upward trend. It is normal for middle-aged and elderly people to entertain, chat, learn and consume through intelligent terminal equipment.Among them, the production and sharing of short videos through existing Internet platforms has become the main content of daily life of middle-aged and elderly people.Compared with other age groups, the characteristics of middle-aged and elderly people with dual attributes of production and consumption in the field of mobile short video are more prominent, especially in daily life.Mobile short video has gradually become a new way and channel for middle-aged and elderly people to acquire knowledge, social entertainment and display themselves. However, problems such as insufficient energy, decreased learning ability and inability to quickly adapt to new things brought about by age growth are common among the middle-aged and elderly groups. In order to integrate more middle-aged and elderly groups into digital life and share the dividends brought about by scientific and technological progress, many network platforms provide special services for middle-aged and elderly groups, but there are problems such as being left in form and being not targeted, which are difficult to achieve the effect of digital aging. In order to explore the specific factors affecting the continuous use of short videos by middle-aged and elderly people, this paper starts from the entertainment and ease of use of Tik Tok,and conducts a comprehensive analysis combined with the existing measurement indicators of flow theory, and then refines the specific measurement dimensions for quantitative analysis, and conducts a comprehensive discussion combined with the descriptive analysis results of demographic variables,so as to put forward targeted suggestions for improving the user behavior of middle-aged and elderly short video users and the construction of aging products. In this paper, the flow theory, short video research, continuance intention and other related literature are reviewed.Combined with existing research results, six variables are proposed: perceived ease of use, perceived entertainment, interaction, situational awareness, perceived risk and continuance intention. On this basis, the questionnaire is designed and the research hypothesis is put forward.Secondly, the reliability and validity of the questionnaire items are analyzed by pre-investigation to ensure the consistency and scientificity of the questionnaire. Then, through online and offline two ways for different regions, different age groups of middle-aged and elderly people to issue formal questionnaires. Finally, the demographic variables of valid questionnaire data were descriptively analyzed, and SPSS26.0 was used to verify the research hypothesis of middle-aged and elderly people's continued use intention of chattering.Through the above test results, combined with the flow theory, this paper makes a comparative analysis of the interview records of middle-aged and elderly people using chattering, and puts forward the following suggestions: First, adjust the balance of skills and challenges timely;Second, provide diversified entertainment interaction for the elderly;Third, dig deep into the curiosity and interest of the elderly;Fourth, strengthening platform supervision to prevent content alienation;Fifth, set the time threshold to prevent addiction.
