Research On Standards Of Long-term Preservation Of Audio And Video Archives In China

With the continuous development of information technology,human society has entered the digital age,and a large number of audio and visual archives in the form of photographs,audio recordings and video recordings are constantly appearing,and their long-term preservation is facing great opportunities and challenges.The dependence of analogue audiovisual archives on their carriers and technology has made a large number of audiovisual archives unreadable,and digital audiovisual archives are becoming more and more abundant.Although the standards related to the long-term preservation of audiovisual archives in China are constantly developing,the number is gradually increasing and the content is becoming more and more perfect,there are still many problems in the long-term preservation of audiovisual archives.This paper takes the national and industry standards for audiovisual archives in China as the main research object,and tries to do some analysis on the contents related to guaranteeing the authenticity,integrity,usability and reliability of long-term preservation of audiovisual archives,so as to provide reference for better implementation of the standard norms and to promote the improvement of the standards related to long-term preservation of audiovisual archives.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part is an overview of the standards related to the long-term preservation of audiovisual archives in China,with an introduction to the general construction of the current standards and their contents;the second part is an analysis of the composition of the long-term preservation indicators in the relevant standards,dividing the main indicators according to the stages of production,maintenance and storage,including storage carriers,storage formats,metadata,setting of parameters,migration and backup,as well as the provisions of preservation environments and systems;the third part is The third part is a study on the implementation and application of standards related to long-term preservation,which briefly introduces the current preservation situation and analyses the implementation of the relevant standards to meet and not meet the standards,and summarises the shortcomings of the current long-term preservation provisions of the relevant standards from the implementation situation;The fourth part makes suggestions for the improvement of standards related to the long-term preservation of audiovisual archives in China,in terms of establishing the concept of the whole process of long-term preservation,building special standards,adopting diversified storage means,drawing on international and audiovisual organisation standards,doing a good job in interpreting and training the standards,and relying on modern technology to broaden the horizon of long-term preservation.
