Research On Format Standards For Long-term Preservation Of Electronic Records

With the continuous development of computer technology and network technology,the types and formats of electronic documents are also increasing day by day.It has brought challenges to the long-term preservation of electronic documents.Except the means of dealing with issues by using technical updating storage formats,the development of standards also plays a crucial role in the management of electronic documents.It is necessary to further improve current standards and uniformly standardize the long-term preservation format of different types of electronic documents,for the purpose of standardizing the storage formats from the source.Meanwhile take various measures to ensure the implementation of the standards and lay the foundation for long-term preservation.This article analyzes and summarizes the existing long-term preservation format standards of electronic documents in the United Kingdom,the United States,Canada and Australia,and combines the existing standards in China,and then points out the problems in China.In order to provide references for the establishment of standard,we drafted the standard and proposed the formulation of implementation for the standards in China.This article is divided into six chapters.The main content of each chapter is:The first chapter is an introduction.This part analyzes the background and research significance of this topic,combs the status quo of research on the long-term preservation format of electronic documents at home and abroad.On this basis,it makes clear the research content,research methods and ideas of this paper,and show the innovation of this paper.The second chapter analyzes the common format and long-term storage format requirements of electronic documents.Analyze the common types and formats of electronic documents and summarize the requirements for long-term preservation of electronic documents.The third chapter analyzes the format standards in foreign counties.Presents the long-term preservation format standards for electronic files in the four countries of the ISO,the United Kingdom,the United States,Canada and Australia,and summarize the characteristics of the construction of foreign standards.The fourth chapter analysis the format standards in our country.It summarizes the electronic file formats regulated by relevant standards for the long-term preservation of electronic documents in China,such as texts,data,images,audio and video,and web social media,and summarizes the development achievement in the standard construction in China.The fifth chapter is analysis the problems existing in the format standards in China.The problems include five parts.Which are the standards need to be further improved,the standard formulation subject is single,the practice of long-term preservation of electronic documents is absent,the adoption rate of international standards is low,the lack of standard dynamic maintenance mechanism,and the lack of long-term preservation system for electronic documents.The sixth chapter,make some suggestions.In order to solve the problems existing in China,we propose to promote the format standards in terms of standard formulation subjects,standardized formats,adoption rates of international standards,establishment of the dynamic maintenance mechanism to promote the development of the national standards of long-term preservation of electronic file format.It also puts forward the draft standard of long-term storage of electronic documents in China.The seventh chapter is a conclusion.Summarize the full text of the research content.
