Collective Memory In Commemorative Reports Of The War To Resist Us Aggression And Aid Korea ——Taking The Reports On People's Daily As Examples(1954-2021)

The War to Resist U.S.Aggression and Aid Korea was a just war fought by the Chinese people after the founding of New China in order to defend their homeland,appeal for world peace,and resist hegemonic aggression.This battle not only showed the national prestige of New China and the military prestige of the people's army,but also broke the myth of the invincibility of the American army.In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China,it increased the sense of identity of the country,and at the same time increased the self-confidence and pride of the Chinese sons and daughters.The great victory of Resisting U.S.Aggression and Aid Korea is a manifesto that the Chinese people stand up and stand in the East,which has had a profound impact on modern China and even the world.In commemorating major historical events and inheriting the national spirit,mass media plays an irreplaceable role due to its own characteristics.The media reproduces historical memory in the form of commemorative reports,publicizes mainstream values while reporting information,guides social public opinion to develop forward,awakens and shapes collective memory,and then gives the public a sense of identity with the country and the nation.This paper takes the ‘People's Daily'(1954-2021)commemorative report to resist U.S.aggression and aid Korea as the research object,adopts the theory of collective memory as the research starting point,and conducts research by combining content analysis and text analysis.The research will be carried out from these three aspects: ‘how to present collective memory',‘what kind of collective memory is presented' in ‘People's Daily' in different stages of the commemorative reports to resist U.S.aggression and aid Korea,and ‘how to construct a collective memory to resist U.S.aggression and aid Korea' in ‘People's Daily'.The study sorted out the five aspects of the ‘People's Daily' commemorative reports in terms of quantity,length,theme,layout and genre,and found that during the nearly 70 years of the commemorative reports to Resist U.S.Aggression and Aid Korea,the media presentation methods of collective memory at different stages have different emphases.With the in-depth research,the collective memory of the People's Daily's commemorative report on Resisting US Aggression and Aid Korea has changed at different stages.In the confrontation stage,the memory of resistance is particularly prominent,while in the softening stage,the memory of the Sino-DPRK friendship is prominent.In the fracture stage,the memory of heroes is highlighted.In the new stage,the memory of resisting U.S.aggression and aiding the DPRK is elevated to a spiritual level,and the value identity of the society is built with spiritual power.In the process of memory changes,the memory of the Chinese nation calling for peace and yearning for peace always runs through the entire commemorative report on Resisting U.S.Aggression and Aid Korea.Finally,the overall analysis of the ‘People's Daily' commemorative report to resist US aggression and aid Korea explores how the ‘People's Daily' constructs collective memory.From the construction of the subject to the object,from the construction of the context to the method,the study comprehensively explains the mechanism of the collective memory construction of the Anti-US and Aid Korea.
