Research On The Construction Of Collective Memory In The Military Parade Report Of People's Daily

In 2019,China held a grand military parade to celebrate the 70 th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.The shocking parade scene and the mental outlook of soldiers left a deep impression on the people.For most people,the understanding of the parade is basically from the mass media,so whether it is about the formation of personal memory or the formation of collective memory,it is naturally based on the information content provided by the mass media.As one of the most important mainstream media in China,People's Daily plays an important role in setting the tone and guiding the overall construction of the collective memory of the parade.Its media presentation of the parade ceremonies over the years through news reports not only affects the people's perception and impression of the parade at that time,but also is an important memory source for the people to form the memory of the parade in the future and even in the future.Based on the report of the military parade of People's Daily,this paper tries to discuss what kind of military parade memory has been constructed by People's Daily in the form of news reports,and what is the value and significance of constructing this collective memory.In order to explore the People's Daily's construction of collective memory of the parade in different periods,according to the events that have an important impact on China's development,this paper divides the 17 military parades into 11 in 1949-1959,2 in the 20 th century and 4 in the21 st century.Relying on the relevant reports of People's Daily,using the methods of quantitative research and qualitative analysis,we can find that during 1949-1959,the People's Daily mainly constructed the memory of military parade through news reports by using the grand military parade to respond to the complex and severe domestic and international situation,and the "made by all nations" weapons in the military parade;during the parade in 1984 and 1999,People's Daily focused on the weapons and equipment produced by China and the viewers;and in 21 st century,the self-confident China and the increasingly powerful national defense forces,more vivid and specific reference to the officers and soldiers and the military parade ceremony in the past are the main military parade memories constructed by People's Daily in this period.On the surface,these changes in the memory of the military parade seem to be different from the reports,but in fact,these reports transmitted to the public have virtually affected and even determined the public's understanding and attitude towards the military parade ceremony in various periods.Through these reports,People's Daily also affects the people's personal memory,and then affects the memory of the “whole society.”However,with the change of the media environment,the People's Daily in the construction of the military parade when memory is faced with many difficulties and challenges.For example,the limitations of recording the military parade in a complete and comprehensive way,the change of the relationship between transmission and reception,the acquisition of users' information production and dissemination rights,and the formation of network communities all affect the construction of stable military parade memory by the media.In order to ensure the orderly and stable construction of the collective memory of the military parade by the media,People's Daily,by giving play to the advantages of the mainstream media,has made a series of changes and highlighted the profound value and significance in assuming the responsibility of the media to construct the collective memory.The process of People's Daily 's military parade memory construction is actually the process of mainstream media shaping unified values,gathering social consensus and enhancing people's sense of national identity.Especially in the face of noisy network society,it is particularly important to leave correct collective memory through the construction of mainstream media to ensure the stability,order and integrity of collective memory.Under the concept of People's Daily advancing with the times,its construction of the memory of the parade is also constantly integrated with new ideas and values.The memory of the military parade constructed by People's Daily will inevitably continue to glow with vitality with the change of times.
