From "NetEase Cloud" To "Net Depression Cloud"

This paper takes the subculture of parodying “Net depression cloud” as the research object,and tries to explore the discourse practice and the structure of feeling behind this subculture.First,this paper investigates the development and characteristics of the subculture of parodying “Net depression cloud”.The “Net depression cloud” is a parody of the phenomenon that there are too many negative emotions in the Netease cloud comment area,even "moaning without illness" in a homophonic way.This subculture realizes the parody of Netease cloud music through four ways of discourse practices: imitation,subversion or transformation,borrowing,collage and patchwork,and presents the style of exaggerated,intertextual,pan-entertaining and instantaneous.Secondly,this paper attempts to construct a framework to analyze the discourse practice of parody,and distinguish the connotation and structure of feeling of parody with different references.When referring to others,“Net depression cloud” express resistance to “kitsch”,which is not only a means of seeking identity,but also a "hedonistic declaration" written by groups on the Internet.When referring to the self,it uses self-mockery to protect and defense themselves,and seeks emotional support and comfort from the outside world by confirming that the self is in a negative emotional state.Finally,the subculture of parodying “Net depression cloud” is closely related to the social situation of young people,which is a universal “structure of feeling”.The phenomenon of “Net depression cloud” is the product of consumer society,and the subculture of parodying “Net depression cloud” is the resistance to the commercialization of emotion.At the same time,“Net depression cloud” is also the product of the transformation from a disciplinary society to a meritorious society.Young people's participation in parody is not only out of their instinctive pursuit of happiness,but also because of the dual discipline of society and self.Although there is a confrontation between the subculture of parodying “Net depression cloud” and the phenomenon of “Net depression cloud”,which reflects young people's pursuit of positive energy,the collusion reveals that young people are facing unspeakable loneliness and depression under the pressure of positive society.By researching the subculture of parodying “Net depression cloud”,this paper hopes to understand the current situation of social development,so as to give more social care to young people.
