The base of netizens in China is large,Internet companies are thriving,and innovations emerge in endlessly.The 2019 Government Work Report comprehensively promotes "Internet+".As an important type of Internet companies and enterprises,video websites have attracted attention in the process of Internet development.According to the China Internet Development Report 2019,the online video market reached 124.95 billion in 2018.With the rapid advancement of online content,the proportion of paying users has increased year by year,and the proportion of membership fee income in the income structure has also increased year by year and has replaced advertising revenue as the largest source of income for video websites.With the ever-increasing number of members and member income,problems in the recognition and measurement of income and information disclosure have gradually surfaced.The diversity and variability of the membership income structure has brought great challenges to the application of income standards.As a super leader in the domestic video website industry,iQiyi is also a pioneer in the membership payment business.Therefore,this article takes the confirmation and measurement of iQiyi's membership payment income as an example,which has a certain symbolic significance and certain scientific research value.This article mainly adopts case study method and inductive deduction method.This article introduces in detail the development status and income composition of the video website industry and takes iQIYI's income confirmation measurement method as an example.At the same time,it summarizes the main characteristics of member income,and combines this characteristic with the income confirmation measurement method to discuss the accounting problems of member income and the reasons for its formation,and then gives corresponding improvement suggestions from the two levels of enterprise and standards.Among them,taking iQiyi as an example to analyze the accounting problems and causes of member income is the focus of this article.The problems in the measurement of membership revenue recognition are based on the fivestep model of revenue recognition of the new revenue standard used by iQIYI in the past three years.From the perspectives of the complexity of the membership model and the degree of matching of the standard applicability,it deeply analyzes the payment of the members of the video website.Accounting problems in income and their causes.Through combing the literature,it is found that the current research on video websites in my country is mainly based on business models,especially with income ecology research as an important branch.Few scholars study the accounting-related issues of video website revenue.It is one of the innovations of this article to focus on the research on accounting issues of video website revenue under the new revenue standard.From a theoretical point of view,this article selects iQiyi,a leader in the video website industry,and conducts targeted research on its membership income,which will help fill in the research gaps in the perspective of membership income by scholars in the research of video websites.From a practical point of view,through the analysis and summary of the confirmation measurement and information disclosure of iQiyi member's paid income,on the one hand,it is helpful to the development and improvement of income standards and has a higher guidance for accounting practice.On the other hand,there are Help investors,management and other potential users of financial report information to have a deeper understanding of financial information and make more rational decisions.
