The Media Image Of The Impoverished Households

The problem of poverty is a huge challenge faced for a long time in the process of human social development,which seriously affects the operation of the global economy,and even becomes an obstacle to global political stability and the progress of human civilization.In November 2013,China proposed a precise poverty alleviation policy.China's “precise poverty alleviation” strategy has contributed “China's wisdom” and “China's power” to the world's escape from poverty.For a long time,the media has paid attention to the progress of poverty alleviation in China,as well as the impoverished households.This article selects the poverty report of People's Daily from November 2013 to December2020,a full sample of 353 reports was collected.All samples were qualitatively analyzed through Nvivo11.The study found that the impoverished households in People's Daily have the following eight characteristics: the image of the delight workers,the image of the trailblazer,the image of the beneficiaries,the image of the people who give back to society,the image of the people who change their mind,the image of the people who are active and determined,the image of the lazy-minded non-puesuers,the image of the people who are conservative.The study analyzes the macrostructure,discourse style,and discourse rhetoric of the overall statistics of the research object.The title is composed of multiple macro themes,and combined with the quotation title to show the first impression of shaping the object of poverty alleviation.The news schema of "Overview-background-main events-oral reactions-comments" is often used in the text,which constitutes layers of progressive structural features.Storytelling and self-narration increase interest and objectivity,and the use of vocabulary highlights the initiative of the impoverished households in the process of poverty alleviation.The use of quotations,metaphors and data convey the meaning behind the accurate image-building of the impoverished households.People's Daily's shaping of the media image of the impoverished households presents three characteristics: 1,the positive image is dominant,and the negative image is weaken;2,the subject of the impoverished households is strengthened,and the discourse status rises;3,the political color of the report is obvious,and the pattern problem is prominent.The media attribute,the discipline of right discourse and the characteristics of the group are the main factors that affect the media image of the impoverished households.
