With the development of economy, the field of mobile communication technology has attracted the attention of various countries. The achievements of the development of mobile communication technology have promoted the development of mobile terminals and promoted the reform of mobile phone products. At present, mobile phone products have become the main consumer goods in the world. After more than ten years of development,China's mobile phone industry has gradually changed from the initial development mode of simple processing and imitation to the development mode with certain independent R&D and design capabilities. In 5G and other fields,China has already taken the lead in the world. At present,China has stepped into the commercial era of 5G technology, and the domestic mobile phone market has become saturated.Domestic mobile phone manufacturers need to find an emerging market with rich growth potential. In view of the gradual improvement of the economy and rapid population growth in sub-Saharan Africa in recent years, this paper believes that the mobile phone market in sub-Saharan Africa has potential for growth, and it is the object that needs to be paid attention to improve the export volume of Chinese mobile phones.Based on the above background, this paper carried out qualitative and quantitative analysis on the export of Chinese mobile phone products to sub-Saharan Africa.Firstly, the competitiveness of Chinese mobile phone products and the external environment and growth of the mobile phone market in sub-Saharan Africa are analyzed. Then, based on the classical gravity model,an extended gravity model is constructed, which takes China's mobile phone export to the importing country as the dependent variable, and China's GDP,the GDP of the importing country, the distance between the two countries,China's labor cost, the mobile phone penetration rate of the importing country, the foreign trade dependence of the importing country, the FDI inflow of the importing country and the population aged 15-64 of the importing country as independent variables. Then, the regression equation of the extended gravity model is used to calculate the theoretical export volume, and the theoretical export volume is compared with the actual export volume to calculate the trade potential coefficient of China's mobile phone exports to the sample countries in sub-Saharan Africa from 2010 to 2019.Then,the sample countries are classified according to the evaluation criteria as "great potential","potential development" or "potential reconstruction".Finally, based on the results of qualitative and quantitative analysis, this paper provides suggestions on how to realize the trade potential from three aspects: the national government,China's mobile phone industry and China's mobile phone enterprises. At the national government level,it is suggested to strengthen intergovernmental communication and coordination, establish economic and trade cooperation mechanism, improve financing and information service system, and pay high attention to the impact of international environment on micro-economic activities. For mobile phone companies,it is suggested to take into account different potential types of national markets and adopt product competition strategies tailored to local conditions, and attach importance to intellectual property protection and legal and compliance work of overseas business.
