A Blockchain-Based System For Large-Scale Cross-Border Supply Chain

As the international trade cooperation progresses,cross-border supply chain has promoted economics growth of market.A supply chain involves multiple roles,e.g.,suppliers,customs,merchants and consumers,as well as large-scale data,such as freight data,capital data and trade data.Sharing data securely and cooperate conveniently among the involved roles is essential,as it improves overall efficiency for supply chains.Recently,blockchain technologies have been widely recognized,which ensures secure data sharing and reliable cooperation for supply chains by implying consensus algorithms,encryption schemes,and smart contracts.However,blockchain-based sup-ply chain systems still face two challenges.First,storing large-size data in a blockchain uses up storage resources as each node maintains a complete ledger.Second,emerging blockchain-based systems cannot work together because they are heterogeneous.To solve the problems above,a blockchain-based system for large-scale cross-border supply chains is proposed.The novel contributions are summarized as follows.1.To propose a blockchain storage management method:to address the problem of high storage consumption of blockchain,this method initially designs a storage model for heterogeneous data to reduce the disk usage of storing supply data,then provides a data transfer method for blockchain to deal with crises such as running out of disk space.2.To propose a cross-blockchain interoperability method:to interoperate differ-ent blockchains,this method first designs an interoperability model of blockchains using blockchain,cross-blockchain module,and relay organization,then based on the pro-posed model,the method provides a trusted mechanism to safeguard cross-blockchain transactions swap validly.3.To develope an advanced blockchain-based system for large-scale cross border supply chain:the system is developed based on the above two proposed methods to fulfill people's need for supply chain industry.
